Alot of things to do in Miami with alot of skimpy dressed girls to do it with!A ranked SEC that they don’t normally play comes to town. MIGHT be 30k there.
Plus other schools don't give a **** about the SEC!A ranked SEC that they don’t normally play comes to town. MIGHT be 30k there.
Evidently UM doesn’t care. But others, especially in the ACC, do.Plus other schools don't give a **** about the SEC!
They like to win so they can chant SEC SEC SEC but they don't think the SEC is as great as the SEC does. Take away Georgia and Alabama, maybe LSU and what's left?Evidently UM doesn’t care. But others, especially in the ACC, do.
Clemson and UNC really care. I think that is because gamecock fans are constantly crowing about how great the SEC is and how bad the ACC is. I think FSU cares when they play UF. If UM played UF every year, they would care a lot more.Evidently UM doesn’t care. But others, especially in the ACC, do.
To me, UM is an outpost school, even in the ACC. BC is the outpost school at the opposite end of the conference. They both have a marginalized quality about them by virtue of their relative remoteness.Clemson and UNC really care. I agree about UM but I'd say Syracuse is the other outpost. Well, until Stanford and Cal come in.To me, UM is an outpost school, even in the ACC. BC is the outpost school at the opposite end of the conference. They both have a marginalized quality about them by virtue of their relative remoteness.
So, Syracuse, UM, and BC will be ESPECIALLY grateful to be less marginalized next year. It's going to be strange. It's going to be bizarre.I agree about UM but I'd say Syracuse is the other outpost. Well, until Stanford and Cal come in.
The crazy conference realignment is going to make me care much less about college sports in general. So, Syracuse, UM, and BC will be ESPECIALLY grateful to be less marginalized next year. It's going to be strange. It's going to be bizarre.
I understand. It's gotten senseless from a regional standpoint. The crazy conference realignment is going to make me care much less about college sports in general.
That’s because is just simply not regional anymore. People don’t only watch their team like they use to 30-40 years ago. Many commit their entire Saturday to college football. I am one of them. It’s one of the reasons I don’t go to as many games anymore. I can only watch one. If it’s between 12-11pm on Saturday, I’m watching football. If I have an event I’m watching on my phone. Just like I did yesterday in the dove field.I understand. It's gotten senseless from a regional standpoint.
Well, Utah's home game against an SEC team that went 6-7 the previous year was their hottest ticket for a home game in about a decade, so some folks sure get up for playing SEC teams.Plus other schools don't give a **** about the SEC!
They are an outpost school, but they have always struggled with fan support when they aren't the "cool thing to do" in Miami. Miami doesn't have a core "university community" that buys the bulk of season tickets the way most college football programs do. At most programs, you can draw a circle with about a 100 mile radius around the school and that's where about 90% of your season ticket holders and regular attendees live. When you draw a 100 mile radius around Coral Gables, you end up with a circle that is about 2/3 water. Additionally, as a private school, Miami's student body and alumni are disproportionately non-Floridians who do not settle in south Florida when they graduate. To me, UM is an outpost school, even in the ACC. BC is the outpost school at the opposite end of the conference. They both have a marginalized quality about them by virtue of their relative remoteness.
It also doesn't help any that they are on the opposite side of the city for which they are named from the stadium in which they play. Their situation is more messed up (by several miles) than even South Florida's, which is at least about to build an on-campus stadium. But you nailed it, they and their namesake city are not good fits for one another. They are an outpost school, but they have always struggled with fan support when they aren't the "cool thing to do" in Miami. 30-40 years ago all I did was watch football games on Saturday. I didn't switch on the TV only to watch one game. I thought that was the norm. That’s because is just simply not regional anymore. Hmm, I wonder why they think that ?Miami thinks the B10 and/or the SEC wants them?![]()
I wouldn’t laugh at the BIG wanting them. There may be some truth to that .Miami thinks the B10 and/or the SEC wants them?![]()
