So, let me get this straight - Michigan has 3 staff members fired, a head coach suspended for 6 games (for cheating), and the committee allows them in the CFP, but, FSU is out because their QB is hurt??? What a world.

The only way there will be a "hammer" is if Harbaugh is still the Michigan coach. The penalty is going to be to Jim though. I could see the NCAA trying to suspend him for the first 6 games next year. If Jim goes to the NFL though this goes away because all along it was all about pushing Harbaugh out. Its just personal.Sad situation. NCAA should have at least sent them notice and given them 90 days to respond. The media acts like this situation went away....it didn't. The hammer will fall, but sadly, it is too late for FSU.

He can just go visit the Pope again and give him a new helmet and it'll all go away. The only way there will be a "hammer" is if Harbaugh is still the Michigan coach. Well, you're going to be very disappointedThe rot runs through the entire Michigan coaching staff. Don't expect rational people to believe that the coordinators, position coaches, players, et al. thought that Harbaugh dreamt up opponents' signals and thus magically knew how to outcoach those other teams. The biggest evidence (aside from Michigan's "everyone is doing this" Charmin defense) is Michigan getting waxed by TCU - a team that the Wolverines did not expect and thus did not have film on.
This situation and Burger-gate shows a loss of institutional control at Michigan. If the NCAA hopes to claw back ANY of its authority, they need to smack Michigan hard.

Nothing changes, just the narrative .Everything is jury rigged. Pitt has 9 national championships.. lolSad situation. NCAA should have at least sent them notice and given them 90 days to respond. I think that had UGa won, the committee would have taken the 4 undefeated conference champions, that means FSU would have been in. Bama winning derailed those plans. The CFP wanted the SEC champ, but they couldn’t take Bama without taking Texas because we were told all along that head to head matters. Throw in that Travis was injured, and the CFP had an out. It's in total nonsense. FSU was ranked 4th in the previous CFP Poll; they didn't have their starting QB then either. It only became a 'thing' after Bama beat Georgia. Noting they are still probably screwed if Georgia wins since they would stay #1. Or maybe Texas gets the boot since they can claim all teams in the CFP are undefeated. Texas in with a loss paves the way for Bama.
Before the Conference Championship games, Texas was #7. Florida State WITH THE BACKUP QB was #4. Then they both win their championship games against mid-ranked opponents and Texas jumps 4 spots and FSU falls back a spot? That is unbelievable. It's all total nonsense. Clearly Alabama beating Georgia greatly increased the importance Texas’ win over Alabama. Before the Conference Championship games, Texas was #7. Florida State WITH THE BACKUP QB was #4.
