If the headline is accurate Michigan is handling it properly. “Hey NCAA shove it and we’ll get around to it when we feel like. What are you gonna do about it? We’re Michigan, go annoy East, Central, Western State, or PSU. They enjoy a good reaming”.

“He closed the release by quoting his former coach, Bo Schembechler, by saying those who stay will be champions.”

“Those who stay will be accomplices.”

Those who stay will lose every bowl game.

Which is the appropriate response. First, this **** goes on everywhere. Second, every school should tell the NCAA to go fv@k itself.

Using consultants as coaches during games (the infraction) doesn't seem that minor.
I'm also curious how that defensive players gun charge will play out, it was miraculously postponed until after the bowl.

He plead guilty to a misdemeanor. Color me shocked.
He's stopped doing 40+ mph in a 25 mph residential area in a truck he doesn't own with an unsecured handgun in the vehicle with 3 fully loaded magazines, 2 of which are on his person with no concealed weapon permit. He's released same day and when arraigned months later the judge is asking for an address for the player. Then sentencing is then conveniently postponed until after playoffs.
To say he received the benefit of the doubt at every turn is being generous. Would love to know if he was living, or possessing on campus as that is against U M policies, something which miraculously has avoided discussion.
And if he feels he needs that level of protection being known as a UM football player, that doesn't say much about Ann Arbor imho, or maybe he needs to travel in different circles.

I really don't feel like studying what the average soccer mom would get charged with in a similar situation in that jurisdiction, but it probably wouldn't be nearly as easy for her to make the whole thing go away.

The question of whether the gun was on campus is an interesting one that was never asked. I'm sure he was keeping it at a friend's house off campus (sarcasm font off)

Again, if this was an undergrad chemistry student, I'm guessing it wouldn't have been so easy.

“The NCAA has reportedly given the Michigan Wolverines football program its Notice of Allegations, claiming head coach Jim Harbaugh provided "false or misleading information" to investigators regarding impermissible contact with recruits during NCAA-mandated dead periods.“

So apparently it is impermissible to have sleepovers and pajama parties with recruits. How many years has this investigation taken? Or maybe they decided to look into Meatchicken’s bowl record after this year’s defeat, and why it is incomprehensible that they lose so many of them. In the process, they discovered that Hairball is spending so much time sleeping over at recruits homes there is almost no time in his schedule to prepare his team.

What the heck is the NCAA investigating? Illegal use of pronouns? There are no more violations in college football.

Right. Why the hell is the NCAA deciding to pop its head out of the ground now? And it certainly isn’t a coincidence that Harbaugh is suddenly looking to get back to the NFL.
It's a level 1 offense for lying to investigators. Rumor is his punishment is already determined. He's being sent to the Carolina Panthers.

Day vs. Harbaugh appears similar to Woody vs. Bo.

Maybe that’s why duhO$U fans dislike PSU and JoePa so much - Joe is the one that recommended Bo to UM if I recall, and then being a PIA to Suckeye football.

Even if you are the most ardent Michigan hater, yeah, you laugh about this but you've got to be thinking THIS is what the NCAA is doing with their time right now? THIS is what they are standing on a hill over? An organization that laments about being short staffed/under resourced is working on THIS at a time when there are NO rules being followed/enforced. I thought it was a joke when I saw it last night.

The most serious allegation seems to be that Harbaugh lied or misrepresented things to the investigators. Are all Michigan Men ok with that?

Which is not to say that Harbaugh is a standup guy or that Michigan isn’t cheating. Just that it’s hard to understand why this is when the NCAA decides to step up.

I read an article recently where there was a quote from Bacon (Michigan writer/author) that the reason Harbaugh was considering leaving Michigan for the NFL was his frustration with college football. This was before these allegations were made public. Perhaps that is what Harbaugh was inferrng to Bacon since Harbaugh had to know something was coming down.

Day is a nobody trying to hang on to urban meyers efforts at osu I think his time is ending at osu. If he stays this year and loses to meatchicken next year he will be gone
