I see where you are coming from. But, you are appealing to the fanbase of a program that was smacked with draconian sanctions second to only the SMU death penalty. The crime.....alleged child abuse by a retired coach. No charges vs the Head Coach and no involvement in any way shape or form by the players . Yet a long time employee at U of M abuses students and athletes......crickets?
So yes, this is Mickey Mouse and I'm not seeing any harm in buying someone a burger, nor an analyst stepping on the field or a zoom practice during COVID.....if that is all that occurred. Even Michigan Loyal Fans must be wondering why Jim lied or didn't just mea culpa? If anyone is expecting meaningful sanctions on Michigan.....don't hold your breath. Unlike the PSU BOT ....Michigan leadership won't roll over. Good for them. The only question will be if this isn't the situation that convinces Jim to go back to the NFL.
By all accounts, Jim was trying to go back last year. He was interviewing for the Minnesota job late January, early February last year.

Damn straight. So here is how this is gonna go. Jim will serve no suspension this season, leading the mighty Wolverines to a 3rd straight Big Ten title at which point he will probably be off to the NFL or he will have Tom Mars hold up any suspension in litigation.
I really can't stand the guy, I think he's half meathead, half autistic... But having read into this mess he doesn't really deserve anything more than a stren harrumph. It's super small potatoes.
So when we thought it was about a cheeseburger, he was going to get for games but now that it’s actually about recruiting he’s only going to get three. Perfect logic to me.
Honestly, I haven’t cared much about any NCAA rules since they hammered Penn State based on a report that they basically used as a blueprint for how to handle such matters in the future. If am a coach and I want to buy a kid a cheeseburger (or a sports car) I’ll do it and the NCAA to go screw themselves.

Lol, Michigan reduced their own penalty. No need for the NCAA, we‘ll take care of this ourselves. What a novel idea. PSU should have handled 2011 internally. We’ve got this NCAA, don’t bother to get involved. The NCAA is a flaccid laughingstock. Time to be dissolved.

Its not a witch hunt. Technically, infractions occurred. Its just the over the top fervor for which the NCAA is coming after Harbaugh thats drawing the ire of not only Michigan but most everyone else who doesn't have a vendetta against Michigan.
