I saw lots on offense and defense that had me frustrated the other night, but have we ever had a better special teams game? One 79 yard punt, two 50+ yard field goals (and no missed kicks), two successful 2-point conversions, two blocked punts that were run in for TDs, and a successful fake field goal for a first down make for a pretty strong special teams night. Am I leaving anything out?

Pretty compelling when you consider all that together in one game. Wow.
Not sure if 2-point conversions count as special teams, however.

2000 at the Swamp was really something. Florida was a quality opponent then.

Also some of those close Kentucky games where Gilmore returned blocked field goals stood out.

Ace Sanders also comes to mind. And Deebo Samuel.

Liked what I saw from Brooks and Wells at WR which will help by giving teams something to worry about other than Vann and Bell

No. They played lights out. Every aspect of st contributed. I don't ever recall better and I go back to the 60's and Marvin Bass. Teams will now be better prepared for them so it'll take more innovation in future games.

How about Van on punt returns. Caught them all and squeezed as much as he could out of each one. He will have a house call before the end of the season.

The one missed extra point was shaking off the cobwebs.

Dickie Harris by himself had a better game at North Carolina many years ago. I don't remember the exact stats but long kickoff and punt returns for touchdowns. I was there and it was the only NC game I have ever attended.

I recall Dickie Harris returning a pass interception for 90+ yds. and returning a ko for over 90+ yards at Georgia in the 70's. But in last Saturdays game we blocked 2 punts, had a punt of over 70 yds. and 2 field goals over 50 yds. With all due respect to Dickie Harris, who was a great Gamecock, I think this was a better overall special teams performance. Just one man's opinion.
