(Well, it was in my dream last night - I've been thinking about it for awhile and it's bugging the hell out of me)

I'm not sold on Urban coming back...there could be some truth that Florida wants Urban to finish the season, save the recruiting class and quietly walk away. Hell, i think what happened was that Bobby Stoops said NO to Foley. He's closing out on a top 1-3 recruiting class at Oklahoma. Foley KNOWS he can offer the job to Mullen at any time and he would take it in a heartbeat, and he was #2 on his list of candidates. He's thinking there is no need to rush this thing....damn i just wish we could know who was going to be @ Florida in the next few years!!!!!

Damn, Ole Miss is going to use this against us with the 2011 class. They probably already have.

I know this has been talked about before, but i just can't get this off of my mind.

What? Nutt has tried to jump ship for 2 years now and McReady made the Nutt/Boone rift public knowledge. How in the hell could they use this against us in recruiting? I understand that UF is a great program, but take away Tebow and Meyer and Mullen has no ties to the Gator program. I just don't think this "love for the Gator program" is as solid as some of you make it out to be. If Meyer had stuck to the retirement, I think Mullen was the obvious choice because he's a quick fix. But, if this does go down well after recruiting season is over, Florida has plenty of time to shop and throw money at whoever they want. Although it would be very unusual for any football program to be shopping for a coach anytime between March and August (unless you are Bama).

Kirk Herstreit mentioned just today that he didn't think Meyer would be back. And if Meyer sits on this for a couple of months and then decides to fold tent, the most logical choice at that point would be Mullen. But it is good to know we have Hudspeth we can fall back on.

seeing as how the "leave of absence" thing is going on.. it would be hard to pull a top-name coach on such short notice with teams going into two-a-days over the summer and getting ready to start the season. Mullen knows the school, the offense, he knows how they do things as far as practice, preparation, and gameday. I'm not saying I think it's going to happen but I've heard crazier ideas

If I were Mullen, I'd rather stay at MSU than go to UF and wait around until Urban decides he wants to make a comeback and then be left to hang out to dry.

The only way I would go back is if I was guaranteed that Urban would not be allowed to come back as the HC, and I don't think Foley would be willing to make that guarantee.

Cam's decision either! Or could it? No way the real Fl. story has played out yet.

they will have to reorganize big time. Would Mullen be the best selection out there considering a rebuild (to the extent that you rebuild at Fla.)?
Again, don't see it.
