This isn't going to happen.

Ohio State is about to get anally assaulted, lube-free, whether Tressel stays or goes; they have been giving athletes cars, cash and all sorts of other stuff. There is no way they are going to play in a decent bowl game in at least 5yrs. Post Season suspension, loss of scholarships and loss of practice hours will take their tolls appropriately; and the Buckeyes are looking down at quite a few stagnant years. What coach from an SEC program would leave for that job?

Dan Mullen has got it going on right now. He's got a "New Year's Day Bowl" Trophy in year two as HC of MSU, he's got a brand new state-of-the-art Practice facility on the way and stadium expansions in the works. He has no reason to leave. Mullen is the type ofdetermined, arrogantcoach that wants to be the first to climb up that mountain that no one has, he wants to do SOMETHING at MSU, something that no one else has done up to date. He's probably going to leave one day, but it will not be beforehe establishes himself as a coach (i.e. winning an SEC Championship or winning 8 or 9 games on a consistent basis).

The only problem with Coarch Mullen is his adamant stance in the field of recruiting, he absolutely will not have anything "dirty" go on under his watch. This hurts us because we all know what recruiting is honestly about, and it damn sure ain't the most comfortable fit all too often. But once wecontinue towin and more importantly, start sending athletes to the NFL, we will begin bagging the high-profile recruits that we want.

Current assistant was named and supposedly that interim was already in line to take over when Tressel retired(?).

For one, they will have a better shot landing a coach when they KNOW what the sanctions will be, and for another, it buys them 6 months to spend searching, rather than scrambling to hire a guy at the last minute who they'll be stuck with for at least 3 years.

At this point, they're better off waiting 6 months to make a hire.
