football team? I know football is where the money is but how are some of these small schools making any money? Plus, expending money on football means you will probably have to cut mens' sports under title 9. Just stupid if you ask me. About 15 dI (I know they will be 1aa) teams need to probably drop football and concentrate on being an academic institution that has athletics for the whole student body, not crappy entertainment for a small portion of students and alumns who will actually attend these crappy games.

I see a very good reason for them to have a football team. They're not quite as big as UGA, but they are bigger than GT and many SEC schools. The only thing will be getting fan support from alumni whose sports loyalties might lie elsewhere.
