My Nephew turned 11, I asked him if he got into Hogwarts. He stared at me...

He never read nor watched the Harry Potter Books or films. Muggle.

Anytime I meet 11 year olds I ask that same? Makes me laugh. The youngest boy always tells me "Its not funny"

All the kids from my brothers and my family have read all the Harry Potter books. They range from 43 to 33 years of age, 6 of them. The Potter books got them reading and they are all voracious readers today. Thanks JK Rowling!

Ha. I am literally on a plane back from Edinburgh right now. HP lives on as strong as ever in Scotland. My 28 year old daughter is with my wife and I and she grew up on those books and the subsequent movies. Loved them and sparked her love of reading. There was actually a very cool HP shop on Victoria Street. Anyway, sad to see that the nieces and nephews, all in the 8-16 age range have no clue or interest. They are missing out. Need to put the damn phones and video games down!

There is a whole bunch of good YA books out there. Yep, they are missing out. How many of us regret reading a particular book as opposed to regretting (daily, in my case) all the time we’ve spent online?

I concur as our younger kids 29 - 35 are all HP followers.....while the grandkids and great grandkids are clueless.

Hey Lion what does YA stand for? Maybe Young Adults, or is it an author, I'm clueless?

I'm 58 and have never read or watched anything Harry Potter. I am a subscriber to Fantasy & Science Fiction Magazine (6 issues per year) and it is a good read.
