State gets him IF- he is actually announcing from the school he is going to sign with...why? Nobody is going to be around at Auburn and no recruit is worth it to them to do all that for when a bowl game is about to happen.

Auburn gets him IF just announcing on NYE...why? Because Auburn wants this publicity tied into their bowl game (altho I will concede it is possible that Mullen is orchestrating this to get out during the bowls to get us some press- but unlikely)

I have not heard anything new lately due to this being the dead period...pure speculation on my part

aGAIN I ask- where is it written that he is supposed to announce his decision from the school he is choosing? I dont want rumor, I want it from someone that has actually talked with the family</p>

I think you might be reading too much into the situation. Maybe not, heck with this kid you never know, but I would guess he just picked a date to announce, and I still think it'll be us. I'd be surprised if he announced at the school of his choice just because it would take all suspense away from the actual announcement, and he's seemed to work this whole time to leave as much suspense as possible. I'd guess he announces at a press conference near his home, with 3 hats on the table, and he picks up the State hat and puts it on. Remember, the Auburn coaches mentioned a big-time commit before Christmas, so if it was Newton they thought they were getting, they certainly didn't seem to think he'd announce on the 31st, and I seriously doubt Newton is trying to announce on the right date to create publicity for Auburn during the bowl games, but we'll see. I wouldn't be shocked if he picked Auburn, but my money is still on us.

The one and only reference to Cam having a press conference at the school he is signing with, that I have seen, was in BDJ's daily recruiting notes last Tuesday, in which Paul Jones said this referring to a conversation with Cam's dad:

He said they are now looking at making a decision next Tuesday or Wednesday. And when he does decide, they will hold a press conference at whatever school Cam decides to sign with.

We should have him in the bag already considering his ties with mullen. So **** or get off the pot so we can start paying attention to other guys. I want the guy to be in maroon come spring but I have faith in Mullens ability to coach, we will have a better qb next with or without Cam.

why would he not just announce before they left for FL so he could hang with the players and coaches before their departure?

WE'RE the school that will have football personell around....

and furthermore, how in the HELL can you start prepping for a press conference without someone getting wind of it and it not getting leaked at this point?

I don't think it will happen at AU or MSU...I think it will happen in the ATL...

and honestly, I wish like hell I knew if it was us or not...
