Lely… Flamingo and Mustang are $300 if you play before noon.Arrowhead is okay. I've played all 3 at Lely and it's still almost $200 as an accompanied guest.

Great Lattes at Del Bocca Vista!Nice area. You should have no problem finding good lattes and scones.

Pre-pandemic, Lely was struggling financially. You migrant Yankees have driven up the price of everything.AKB....Anyone play these public courses in Naples: Hibiscus, Valencia, Arrowhead...hanging here for a bit. TMI, but not surprising.I can see why Lely may be out of reach financially for the income of two retired teachers on Social Security making $200 grand+ per year.

Gotta know members to get the discount . Flamingo has greens only a year old. Played it with a two club wind . Balls bounced off them like it was Elton John’s chinLely… Flamingo and Mustang are $300 if you play before noon.
We are staying at Lely....love it here. Unfortunately don't know any members. Not playing today...and if I wanted to, could not get on till 3pm. “Is that a Titleist?”I’ve never bounced my balls off of Elton John’s chin, so I’ll take your word for it.
You forgot the 300k that i contributed during my 35 years, plus the 50k that i got for my sick-leave buyout, and the comprehensive health care plan that I get paid by my district till I am 65! So glad that I was a union rep!!! Take a word of advice....in your next life don't go trout fishing on career day. Now, if you don't mind I need to get on my Yacht, sailing to Miami to spend the day!
Drive by Forest Glen all the time....it is not that I am looking for cheap, don't mind paying to play on great courses. Problem is at a place like Lely Resort, to play the Mustang or Flamingo it is about $250 at 3 oclock. What I do mind is paying that kind of coin and not getting 18 holes finished, and having to try and play "sprint" golf. No way you can play those courses in 3.5 hours...I have a place in Forrest Glen in Naples. While we have our own golf course on occasion we have guests who want to golf. Recently we golfed at Eastwood Golf Course. Eastwood is a Fort Myers course. It was OK and the cost was higher than the conditions supported. I have golfed at Arrowhead and again it is OK but the price was higher than I expected. What I have found is that I have to go futher north or more inland to find reaonable golf. If you are willing to drive you can find golf better and cheaper.
I have friends at Mediterra, CC of Naples, Tiburon, the Vineyards, Calusa Pines, Leily, Twin Eagles, Grandezza, and West Bay. Was fortunate enough to golf a round at Naples National. Would love to get on Royal Ponciena, the Hideout, the old Collier Cub.Drive by Forest Glen all the time....it is not that I am looking for cheap, don't mind paying to play on great courses. What is your opinion of Twin Eagles? Actually sitting on vrbo as we speak looking at renting a home for 6-8 weeks next February and March...must be pet friendly. Amazingly, there are quite a few and really not that nuts money-wise. Have playedt Twin Eagles a few times...love the 2 courses. Any help with a house would be greatly appreciated...Thanks for the dining tips, next time I am down I will check them out. We did Pelican Larry's, The Warehouse, On the Rock's, Sam Snead Lounge at Lely, and a Patriot/Red Sox bar tha I can't recall the name...all great times.I have friends at Mediterra, CC of Naples, Tiburon, the Vineyards, Calusa Pines, Leily, Twin Eagles, Grandezza, and West Bay. Usually I count on my boys to line up stuff. Don't think there is anything prime for a under $200 rate in season Guest fees are usually under $200 with a member, except for Calusa. 400plus, plus caddy fees. But the elevation changes there I think are the greatest in FL. They trucked in a lot of dirt. Very understated entry like Pine Valley.
Golf Now I guess would be your best resource. When. new developments open, they often have tee times for outside play until they have enough members to support the course. Summer rates are really cheap and some private courses will have limited play open.
Last trip down, I went to DelMar in downtown Naples. Supposedly the hot new restaurant. It was pretty good but not worth the price to me. I;d rather Campiello's , Trulucks, or Oseria Tulia. Across the street, a speak easy type place called the Vine Room just opened. Salty prices but the place to be seen. Giovanni's is a good price point for tasty Italian food on Pine Ridge. Two Meatballs by Cape Coral is a really good bang for the buck place too I missed my usual trip to Jimmy P's Butcher Shop and Deli. Awesome steakhouse.
Always love Naples, enjoy your trip .
Can’t thank you enough. Owe you a beer!Have a friend who lives there year round and two others who rent Jan Feb . Nice place nice courses . Only negatives are it’s a drive to the water and driving to the downtown restaurants with a long drive home . Prices must be reasonable as the renters I know are cost conscious. Not 100% sure but believe there is a “transfer fee” for the homeowner to allow you to use the properties golf membership if they have one . Way cheaper than any greens fees though . Make sure the property has an attached golf membership .
You should definitely purchase a winter residence while down hereYou forgot the 300k that i contributed during my 35 years, plus the 50k that i got for my sick-leave buyout, and the comprehensive health care plan that I get paid by my district till I am 65! Thanks buddy, on my way out. Heading back to the NE into a Winter Weather Advisory.....SUCKS! BTW...what course am I missing out playing??If you’re in a bind and flying solo, DM me. I live on one of the nicer tracks down here and can book a tee time. I need an excuse to get out this week anyway!
The Arnold Palmer designed course Naples Lakes and Country Club is really good. I can't believe Hibiscus is still open. I've played that track many times in the early-mid 90's. Still have a time share on Marco but hardly ever use it. Marco Shores and Habiscus where the two public courses that where easy to get on. Naples golf and for the most part golf fees this time of year in Florida are outrageous for the quality of course your playing. Is Corkscrew GC still there? It was the best "Semi-Public" course in the Naples area at one time. A very challenging Nicklaus Design.AKB....Anyone play these public courses in Naples: Hibiscus, Valencia, Arrowhead...hanging here for a bit. Old Corkscrew that’s a ball Buster . Tough bordering on unfair .I can't believe Hibiscus is still open. I've played that track many times in the early-mid 90's. BTW if your going to drop $300-$400 for a round I hope it's a good design in good shape. I played Lakewood National (Private)last week, both Palmer courses where in excellent shape. Greens firm running at least 11 on the stemp.
