Not sure who is the bigger blow hard...Fleck or Schiano.
They have a common friend.

'Kirk Ciarrocca is in his first season back as Rutgers’ offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach after being hired by head coach Greg Schiano on Jan. 7, 2023. Ciarrocca, who has over 30 years of coaching experience (19 as an offensive coordinator), returns to Piscataway after serving on Schiano’s staff for three seasons and winning two bowl games from 2008-10. He has previously been selected as a semifinalist for the Broyles Award and coached 26 players who had their name called in the NFL Draft (six in the first round)."

Fleck worked for Schiano at Rutgers and Tampa Bay. Worked with Ciarrocca at RU in 2010. Not one of the team's better years, though it could lay claim to having a Freshman All-American QB for the second year in a row.

Ciarrocca hired Fleck as a WR coach during his first stint at Rutgers as the OC.

Brutal loss to Northwestern yesterday after being up 31-10 in the 4th qtr. Many calling Fleck a snake oil salesman where have we heard that before but in year 7 people are.expecting a lot more from them

Ceiling isn’t that high at Minnesota. I mean, Flexk didn’t down a punt in the end zone. But, it’s his boat. Time to walk the plank.

a healthy set of lungs, but too many tats for me

Tits yes tats no!!!!!

Flotation devices to save him when he needs to abandon ship.

ROWING reminds me of an old joke:

In the old galley days the First Mate goes down below where all the slaves man the oars. Says: “Guys, I have some good news and some bad news…..the good news is everyone gets an extra ration of rum with lunch today…..(YAYs)…..the bad news is the Captain wants to go water skiing this afternoon (BOOs).

So I got to see this character up close when they played here at UNC last week. He acts like an *******. He wears a longer shiny gold jacket and I noticed the rest of his staff has a standard uniform of ugly yellow shirts. Hey Elvis, you aren’t the show. The entire freakin’ game he’s working the refs, talking gibberish. His offense absolutely blows. His defense is slow and predictable. Not impressed. Not surprisingly, UNC barely broke a sweat.

I tend to find Fleck's persona a bit much.

That said, he took WMich to levels that were unprecedented - and has led Minnesota to their highest levels since the 1960s.
Doing that out of a University where you have maybe 3-4 Big Ten caliber recruits in his home state per year? The guy can recruit and coach.

They have had 14 kids drafted in the 4 years since he had "his guys" on the roster.... that is more than the previous 13 years combined. 26 Big Ten wins in 6 years is their best stretch since the 1960s. 4-0 in Bowl games (granted, they haven't been the Rose and the Sugar bowls). Their highest finish in the polls (10th) since 1961.

He's done more than all right.

Ciarrocca knew how to make Fleck's (Tressel Ball) ideas of offense/ complementary football. Not to mention the new guy doesn't see the field the way our sixty year old super senior did. I don't think the new OCs, yes it's plural, have figured out how to tweak whatever offense they are trying to run. With that said, the defense $h*t the bed in the fourth quarter and the offense couldn't/ didn't bail them out.

To add insult to injury, the freshman running back was pulled by the trainer. Not sure how long he'll be out.

Doesn't matter much to you because whoever comes out of the east West will most likely be a lamb at the alter.

Edit. As you can see above, my mind was in the same place as the punt coverage gunner.

the pressure could be enormous with dozens of people actually caring about Minnesota football.

Bet you guys are wishing you could have kept Potts. He looked pretty good in garbage time last week.

I thought that about mid way through the first quarter of the first game. I can't fault him. He's very close to home now. Btw I ran into his family when I was at the Whiteout game. I'm very happy for him.

The Gophers only need to look into their backyard should Fleck move on.....

I'm pretty sure this guy is still around. We could save money while blowing 21 point leads.

Seriously, I think the team can and will improve. Just won't go very far this season. Minnesota just doesn't reload like the helmet schools.

Still, that loss on Saturday was brutal.
