"For ranking purposes, coaches may only consider a wrestler that has been designated as a starter at a respective weight class. Wrestlers must have eight Division I matches in the weight class to be considered with at least one within the last 30 days." Both of these criteria hurt PSU a bit.

PSUers ranked:

141: Beau Bartlett - 3rd
149: Shayne Van Ness - 11th
165: Alex Facundo - 16th
174: Carter Starocci - 1st
197: Max Dean - 2nd

Don't shoot the messenger, or over react. We've seen in past years that as it gets closer to Nationals, most PSU wrestlers meet the criteria to be ranked.

Yep. It's almost always this way out of the gate. To your point, Tom, it all typically (but not always) sets up correctly close to nationals. Those qualifiers almost always hurt Penn State some way, some how in the first set of rankings.

Yeah, we know that RBY and AB will likely both be ranked #1 for the tournament. This is way early.
