So if the substituted player "slowly" walks off the field and isn't part of the play is the next issue to address.

Because this is pretty cut and dry. The fake injury loophole is a little more sensitive because all it will take is someone who actually is hurt and gets penalized to start a firestorm.

I think if you a player gets up and to his position and then randomly drops like we see if should be ignored and the play continues

This is why the fake injury stunts are so egregious. With the frequency Ole Miss does it, they are going to force NCAA action on it. They could do it once per game and be ok. But they do it closer to once per offensive possession. But by forcing action, they are creating a real safety concern where players who really are injured are going to worry about getting penalized for it. It’s embarrassing.
