I don't like women play-by-play announcers, and it's certainly not because I don't like women. It's the fact that the the female voice lacks the sonorousness that makes for great athletic-event announcing. The TV crew doing the Raleigh Regional was awful. The woman sounded like a rookie. I prefer listening to Derek on the radio even if it doesn't sync up with the TV.
I can't listen to one minute of that Beth Mowens who calls a lot of softball games on ESPN. Her voice is like finger nails on a chalkboard. If I'm gonna watch, it's on mute.I don't like women play-by-play announcers, and it's certainly not because I don't like women. I dislike homerism in sports announcers. Even USC's. Bob Fulton would never have stooped to such a level. He’s a homer - what do you expect
Who was the SECN(?) announcer when Cardozo hit that 3 in the SECT semifinals? "A miracle for the Gamecocks!"I don't like women play-by-play announcers, and it's certainly not because I don't like women. I don't know. That Mowins girl is cringeworthy.Who was the SECN(?) announcer when Cardozo hit that 3 in the SECT semifinals? "A miracle for the Gamecocks!"
I can't stand that woman calling games. Amateurish.Who was the SECN(?) announcer when Cardozo hit that 3 in the SECT semifinals? "A miracle for the Gamecocks!"
She sounded pretty excited to me.I can't stand that woman calling games. Amateurish.
Pretty often, but it ain't as bad.How often do you see men calling a women's sport?
The next woman I hear who sounds good announcing sports will be the first one.I am disinterested in the sex of the announcers / commentators. I want to hear someone who is competent, asks intelligent questions, provides meaningful analysis, has a pleasing, engaging voice, and is not a homer for either team.

Try watching women's tennis at Wimbleton. The next woman I hear who sounds good announcing sports will be the first one.
I'll bear that in mind, and if one or more are found to be good, let's have those people replace every woman doing play-by-play in the United States.Try watching women's tennis at Wimbleton.
