Nebraska needs to be working on next year

we need to decide what type of offense tj will be running and use these bowl practices to install it.
then the players have all winter to memorize it...

it's going to need more qb running then the collapsing pocket statue qb offense..
and the new defense will have 4 not 3 people on the dline, coach rhule has the green light to start having the coaches install that also..

finally, coach rhule needs to personally get involved in the depth chart graph and the portal graph...
we need to start filling weak links...see the dt, lt and rb positions first

plus, we need to think reloading...have some freshmen, some sophomore, some juniors and some seniors...then your always reloading
not all senors then your screwed the next year...

also, leonhart, cal coach or vt coach for dc...

in conclusion, good job geting rid of the db/dc and the oline coach...but reform is always of need
so anyone not carrying their weight needs to get packing...

I'd say let Stewart do his job and keep Rhule's nose out of it. If Stewart pulls off a miracle and helps to build a real good squad next year, and that might be nothing more than an 8 win team, then NU maybe is onto something. If we get the same sh*t results, time to send Stewart on his way and start all over again.

The other point about these bowl games is who will opt out, as far as Nebraska I only see EJ as the most likely but you never know about others who enter the portal.

As far as Utah, they have some players who have NFL talent who have nothing to gain by playing in this game so who knows if this will help even things out a bit, one can only hope. Well obviously Rhule IS working on next year, getting two new assistant coaches. The issue is not whether he's working on it, the question is will he make the right choices Last year Ekler was the right choice and Butler was the wrong choice.

I think that should be rhules main focus, identifying the weak links, and matching portal targets with nil doners..
making a love connection between the 2...(and taking a bull whip to the assistant coaches like cig probably does)
dana can handle the offense and leonhart the defense..and eklar special teams (and maybe dana clock management)..

it's about spreading the workload, where each gear does it's job

I believe there has always been multiple candidates being interviewed. People need to be patient. IF we were hiring one of Rhule’s buddies maybe it would have happened quickly. Certainly appears we’re casting a wider net. The fake news story that Kehrs turned down an offer are laughable.

the dc needs to bring a couple dl's with him and a rush end...and a dline coach like John Blake who got suh and landed all of stoops nc players..this will give rvp (sophomore) and nwari (freshmen) some reasonable help

But as a coordinator there was issue's with Kehres during the interview with Rhule most likely about control of staff. This most likely will be the most difficult hurdle for Rhule to get over in order to get a great defensive coordinator. This is why I said it's pretty quiet right now but heck what do I know maybe it's just business as usual

the spring game... I remember watching the 95 spring game, everything seemed to be in order...and I don't remember mr. Frazier wearing anything green...I personally don't see the spring game as window for other teams spying who they can take from NU...I see it more as just more practice to get better, at blocking and tackling ...maybe me and dr. tom need to chat with rhule bout this..

Rhule has hired all these different assistants it’s time those people earned their paycheck like Stewart and others that work behind the scene

not sure I would have held up the deal because of a db coach..I know the defenses are better with a good one, like bo's defense and white's defense...but alot of them guys ain't right in the head sexually..and there are alot of good db coaches, because there is a glut of good db's compared to good dlinemen and pass rushers..

Not just the DB coach but also losing recruits who like or just love that DB coach who recruited them is a big factor a head coach has to factor.

The DC hire could be tricky if Ruhle insists on staying with a 3-3-5. Michigan runs a version of it. They have elite athletes. Purdue and Rutgers run it. And NU. See a pattern here? So in my opinion if that is one of the conditions, the hire may take some time and end up being some small college guy trying to make a buck. No established DC is going to want his name attached to a trainwreck like this years defense. You can not give up 250+ yards on the ground in the B1G and win many games. If you believe in a guy enough to hire him, let him run HIS defense. If your shopping for a DC to run your world famous Carolina Panthers defense, then your not going to hire the right guy.

How do players who contribute on the field feel about the program and how many hit the portal? Will the staff hit on all the players we buy? Or half of them like in the past? instead of folks fearing utah, I'd put them to good use testing the weaknesses of our new run based offense and 4 2 5 defense
