Losing a quad 1 on the road or winning a quad 2 at home usually won't change your ranking very much later in the season as much as early on, its all the other games being played that will affect our and their nets. If a lot of our former opponents keep losing, could hurt us more than beating a mediocre OM team (quad 2) at home. OM beat Memphis and UCF in OOC but those two teams were supposed to be Q1 and they are not. OM best win is a Quad 2 win at home right now and that was vs State. If State gets in top 30, then it gets bumped to a Quad 1.
It's wild a quad 2 win at home really doesn't help much individually but a lot of quad 2 home wins collectively does help. Quad 1 wins are what you need, don't worry about Q1 losses so much as they don't hurt as much as Q1 win helps. They could have jumped like a lot if they had swept State.
OM just got a knock down punch with the loss. It's not impossible for them to make the tournament but it will very very difficult now. They will probably drop completely out of the first four out this week. There are too many automatic bids for a team in the 60s net to get a bid without a conf tournament title.
I get all that right?
