that his high school coach said Carter was a better player than Sherrod was at the same point in high school. He coached both. I'm ok with that.

outstanding student and good citizen? I'm good with that and I love our new approach, screw the prima dona's and the star ratings, seriously.

Screw prima donna and star ratings? So basically you are saying every 4* or 5* or a player with a lot of offers is a prima donna? I know you want to tell yourself: " I believe in this staff and the way they evaluate talent" or "we really are recruiting for need with kids that fit our system." Or "I would rather take a 2* with a lot to prove than a 5* who thinks he knows everything. I have heard it all from our fans, and I find it hilarious. Yall can look through the wool and spin it anyway you want to, to make us look better. At the end of the day I would like to see us sign a player that all the other coaching staffs in the SEC were high on besides ours.

I'll go with players our coaches like once they have seen them during camp. and don't get me wrong, we need to sign high profile recruits as well as the ones that appear to be flying under the radar. It has been my experience in coaching and playing differentsports for many years that highly motivated and prepared teams that are well coached trump teams that have more talent but lack the aforementioned qualities. I believe you will discover over time that our coaches know exactly what they are doing. I know it sounds sheepish but I firmly believe it.

It's a balancing act. We need the best, most talented platers who fit our system and want to be at MSU for reasons other than $. I'd much prefer all 4 and 5 star rated signees, but I don't want prima donnas(sp?) who have their hands out for cash and who have had everyone tell them how great they are for years despite character flaws. In other words, we need the bestplayers who remain "coachable". I trust our current staff's ability to evaluate talent, but yes, I hope to see an uptick in the perceived talent level as well. I am thinking we should see some dividends from last year's results on the field come signing day 2012.
