You managed to grab one small section of my post and act as if I hinged my whole argument on that. I'll express the logic again since you either completely missed it or ignored it. Michigan State is typicalled referred to as "MSU". We are typically referred to as "Mississippi State" or just "State". Therefore it makes no sense to have a logo like the interlocking MSU when we aren't even called that. The logo with State in it makes more sense. For instance, the typical Ole Miss logo is the cursive "Ole Miss" rather than a M, UM, or Mississippi (although they do use the M in baseball, but then again we use the MS in baseball).

Now then, on the issue of color, we are maroon whereas Ole Miss is red and blue. We are the bulldogs, they are the rebels. So forth and so on. Yet, the national media and so many sports fans in far off places still get our schools mixed up. So your argument about confusing green and maroon can be done away with.

the M-State logo is fine. They will probably tweak it to bring it into the 21st century, but it should stay on as our official logo. It has already been branded, it would be ridiculous to start all over again. One of the most recognizable logos in the world is a huge M with a banner. McDonalds 899,000,000,000 burgers sold.

Didn't realize Nike had the rights on that. I agree that looks better than what y'all have now, but I always remember thinking to myself that that logo looked like **** on the right side of the helmet. Never lined up well with the top chin strap buckle and facemask. Kind of the same problem with the Ole Miss logo.

i completely understand you point, i really do. but with all that said, why not have something else besides a big M and a little gay looking state ribbon? if you want to emphasize "state" more, why not do so with a logo that does that instead of one that only uses a stupid looking small ribbon. ribbons are for cheerleaders and ******. hell, "mississippi state" spelled out on the helmet would look alot better than whats on there now. being that we changed to a new logo in the m-state, wouldn't you think that we could have gone to one that wasnt so generic looking?

of our athletic department in the Templeton years. Nothing could have better captured the blandness and lack of creativity and imagination much better than that logo.

i could tolerate having the m-state logo as another logo for the school, but just not on the side of a football helmet. just like i dont mind the walking bully, but again just not on the side of a football helmet.
