As I understand, Mississippi JUCO's do not have "territories" to recruit from anymore- it's pretty much anyone is fair game. Also, they can only have four out of state recruits a class.
I know that is Germans, so my question is will certain JUCO's benefit, and who?
I could see East Mississippi and Northwest becoming minor league affiliates for MSU and Ole Miss. Basically send all of your non-qualifiers, or maybe a young QB that needs playing time over.
I also could see Hinds benefitting because now they can recruit Madison County and get players from Madison Central, Ridgeland, and now Germantown as well as MRA. They can also sell the fact that they are in the Jackson area as opposed to say, Goodman.
Gulf Coast could benefit because they could use their proximity to the beach- not necessarily Mississippi's- think Florida, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
It's definately going to totally change how these schools recruit because in the past, I'm sure it was protect the guys in your territory and then find a few ringers. Also, now that these schools can go out and recruit, no doubt you will see improved facilities and things like that to try to draw players.
