Really confused on what's happening with Daniels. Thought the injury was non-contact, and don't ever remember seeing a non-contact broken rib. And then thought the x-ray would be pretty quick...can't believe there is still no info.Carolina 0-20 Washington with the first half winding down. Washington has 2 passing yards.

Then again, it's unlikely to matter today.

Now 0-34 Washington, halfway through the third. Carolina is a very bad team.Carolina 0-20 Washington with the first half winding down. Washington has 2 passing yards.

They can run the ball, but they totally abandoned the run today when they got down (and have a few times this season). That Pick-6 from Fowler really changed the game. And the fact that they can't stop the run kills them in a game like this. Now 0-34 Washington, halfway through the third. Carolina is a very bad team.
The Browns are a mess. You could argue that this injury may benefit them.
His contact is an absolute anchor on their franchise right now. I have no idea where they go moving forward, as Watson working out is about the only positive option. The Browns are a mess. You could argue that this injury may benefit them.
Carolina sticking with Dalton when down 37 in the 4th really removes all doubt about Bryce Young's future there, IMO.
Plays like this certainly support your argument:

And that’s why they never win anything. Dumb front office decisions. His contact is an absolute anchor on their franchise right now. I have no idea where they go moving forward, as Watson working out is about the only positive option.
Agree. He’d have to be 100% committed to rehab to come back. I’m not seeing it. He’s a mess mentally already.I think Watson just played his last NFL game.
How? Cutting him isn't an option really.I think Watson just played his last NFL game.
I see no way that he just voluntarily leaves $100,000,000+ on the table. He'll be back next season.Agree. He’d have to be 100% committed to rehab to come back. I’m not seeing it. He’s a mess mentally already.
So the injury doesn’t really change a thing? Some further context...
Releasing Watson would cost the Browns a $172+ million dead cap hit. Even if they did it as a post-6/1 move to spread it out over two years, it would cost them about $119 million next year, and about $54 million the following year. The biggest single season dead cap hit until this point was Denver taking a $53 million hit to move on from Wilson.
The Browns only "hope" is for something to come back on Watson strongly enough to get him suspended and his contract somehow voided.

Nope...the Browns fully guaranteed the rest of the $ in his contract to free up more $ in the short term. So basically, as long as Watson wants to get paid, he shows up (barring a catastrophic injury...while the achilles is "just" a really bad injury). So the injury doesn’t really change a thing?
I believe I read that this was true for all of the "known" accusers (they wrote that in). But new accusers/charges could put some of the guarantees in jeopardy.Actually, I don't think that will help the Browns. Reportedly, he has language in his contract that stipulates that if he is suspended he doesn't forfeit his signing bonus and his future guarantees are not voided.
