As I was saying.... A defensive slugfest and a chance to pin them deep with gambling Jimmy G at the helm. Instead of doing that they go for it and completely give up field position leading to a short TD. Maybe some sort of analytics support that, but they never seem to account for the emotional swings.

Add to that the long FG attempt before the half. The game is tough defensive type with field position everything. That play before the half cost LA 3 pts by giving the field to SF. Very much like a Penn State call to give easy points to opponent. Difference between aggressive and taking risks that do not make sense with the odds. If you are in a game that is up and down like basketball score like 63-49, may be different.
I hear you; if you haven't noticed that stuff drives me nuts. I often wonder how much growing up watching Joe influenced how I think it's supposed to be done. I just assumed his way was right. Still do in a lot of ways.
