No doubt in my mind I'd start Evan Mitchell Game 1

He beat Florida in Hoover, the bullpen blew it. If we could get the first game who knows what could happen.

It'll be the 2nd time in less than 2 weeks they will have faced Mitchell.

of course it's better to have faced a guy before, but if the guy has good stuff and is making good pitches, he still has the advantage over the hitters. Think about Jack Morris vs the Braves in the WS- they saw him 3 times in just over a week- and he still shut them out in Game 7

They will see him one game one way or the other. Might as well throw him first. He is our hottest pitcher right now and we arent going to not pitch him because they saw him in Hoover.

why change now? Pollo pitched well in the opening game plus I think he would have a chip on his shoulder. He really made one bad pitch against Fl in the SEC tourney. Also, it gives Mitchell another days rest from throwing his longest outing and I think he will pitch better under pressure in game two needing a win for the championship or to survive.

What we gotta do is play error less baseball and get timely hits, you can't let Fl have 4 outs in a inning.

You gotta think the Gators will be over confident against a scrappy under achieving less talented Msu team! We need for our seniors to put on their best performance of the year, can you say Parks, Ogden, Freeman (how did he make all regional), Sheppard, Thigpen and Collins?

He is probably locked in his office right now figuring out the matchups and who will start when. He probably still won't know when today is over. I trust him to make a good decision. Now if you are just picking starters based on who the best pitcher is right now, Mitchell would be first and then Routt would be second. But that doesn't mean it's what is going to happen or what should happen.

I bet Cohen would rather go left-right-left. If the super starts on Saturday, I'd go Routt-Mitchell in games 1 & 2 with Pollorena available in the bullpen if he was really needed (wouldn't bring him into a game unless we were leading). Then go with Pollorena in game 3 if he didn't pitch in 1 or 2. If it starts on a Friday, I'd probably go with Pollorena since Routt threw so many pitches Sunday and would be coming back on 4 days rest. Even though pro pitchers do that routinely, college pitchers aren't used to it.</p>
