Context for those of us that don't have our fingers on the pulse of LSU?
The last Mike got cancer and died in like 2015. They haven’t brought New-Mike in since then because.. you know.. Wild animals in cages n’stuff.
Governor decides he has the power to rent a tiger from from some wild cat wrangler in FL and ship him up to be carted around in front of 100K drunk coonasses.
It has received a… mixed.. response.
who are the mixes?
Peta and left looneys and normal fans?
Or are LSU fans mixed about it.

Governor suggest bringing Mike back into Tiger Stadium. People in the LSU Vet school, otherwise known as experts, say its a bad idea and they can't permit Mike to be put in a cage again. Governor ignores experts and keeps suggesting it. Governor gets more push back. Nevertheless, he persisted. Get's tiger brought in from Florida. The Tiger's name is Omar Bradley....not to be confused with Odell Bradley.
The two LSU fans I'm closest with think this is really weird, and also pointed out the stupid kerfuffle the governor made last year about the LSU team should lose their scholarships for not standing for the national anthem (despite, you know, teams pretty much never being on the field for the national anthem at football games).
Basically, they're disappointed in LSU for letting the governor get his way on this.

I dont think you have to be part of PETA or a 'left looney' to look at this and be like 'eh...this seems dumb' or 'that would really suck to be caged up and randomly paraded around a loud scary stadium'.
I eat meat, I support certified zoos and see the net benefit of their existence, I go to zoos, and we own multiple animals in size from a cannibalistic mini-hamster to a horse.
...but I can understand if LSU fans who arent extremists dont really like the tiger plan.

Why does the Tiger have a first and last name? And who got to name him?
The Louisiana governor is a complete fool. Wasting the state’s money to rent a tiger to parade around the stadium on Saturday night. It’s not even their mascot. Just some random tiger. That would be like us getting a bulldog from an animal shelter in Knoxville tomorrow and parading him up and down the sidelines.

I'm thinking we put Mike in a cage for a few hours and if the fans wanna complain we just release him and see how it goes. What's the worse thing he could do ? Eat a couple cheerleaders ?? Hmmm....not that I mention it that doesn't sound too bad.
It's not a first and last name. It's the first names of the two guys he's eaten so far.
Pretty soon his name will be Omar Bradley Vernon Lucien Jean Baptiste
If it was something that came about organically, that'd be one thing, but this is being forced in a very hamfisted way. Much like MSU forcing non-interlocking-MSU on us when it's there for the using.
