When you consider our staff really doesn't have a go-to ace. We're basically doing this with a staff of second and third line type starters. Really, take away 3 games or so and our starting pitching has been very solid all year. Thompson had his guys ready to pitch and enough can't be said about the coaching job that was done last week. They had every reason to fall apart after the 0-2 showing in Hoover but clearly, there was productive work done. Cohen said it all along starting Thursday that we were prepared and damn if he didn't mean it. Enough also can't be said about our defense, particularly the outfield. That trio right there both offensively and defensively won this regional for us.
