I'm sure Garrett Riley is off the table, though I'd LOVE to see what he can do with Rattler.

I hope we don't go the "internal hire" route.

Still intrigued by Casey Woods at SMU. Strong SEC ties, but only one season as OC, though it's been a really good one.

I read somewhere that the Philadelphia Eagles QB coach would be a prime candidate should we look. I dont know much about him other than I read he is very highly regarded and respected for work he does with QB's. I guess we will see though

He was UF's OC in 2020 which scored 39.8 ppg.

Also had a year at Houston as OC with 28 ppg.

Does have SEC ties with MSU and UF.

Long shot but how about someone internal. Freddy K. or J. Stepp? I think both would be very good.

Man, I just don't know. The internal hire still makes me queasy after the McClendon debacle. Unless Beamer knows something we don't know about the last 2 games.

You really think if Rattler stays he wants to see the brother of the coach that benched him causing him to transfer?

Good question. I dunno. They're all "professionals" though so I'm sure you take those kinds of things in stride. I'm sure it's a moot point, though, since I doubt he's attainable.

I'd love a splash hire, but with a splash hire comes the expectation of splash results. Anything short of that and fans will get restless.

To me it all depends on their level of involvement in the success the last two weeks. Stepp will be promoted or will leave at some point. He's that good. He will be a head coach down the road .

I want someone who can develop QBs and calls aggressive offense.
Read up on Ruggiero:

If Garrett Riley is available, I’d try hard to get him. His offense has been stellar, even when he was af SMU with Dykes before they moved over to TCU. Yeah, his brother is Lincoln who benched Rattler, but he’s not his brothers keeper.

Have to be able to spread out defenses if don't have the personnel to go man-to-man with them. And having a fun offense to play in will aid recruiting skill players.

I am out- of-town at the moment. If I was home, I would look up some prospects. When I return this afternoon, I will look up some.

But, thinking about it right now, I find the Wake Forest OC VERY appealing. Very good coach plus should have recruiting contacts in the important recruiting state of NC.

I saw the Texas WR coach mentioned as a top possibility by a couple different sites. Never heard of him.

I would be shocked and disappointed if Shane had not developed a "short" list of who he wanted to replace Satterfield after the 2021 season. If it is true that Satt got no raise or extension after his performance last season, then Beamer knows who he wants right now and is going after him.
No doubt. Excited to see who he brings in.

I would expect an announcement relatively soon if he wants to have someone in place for the bowl game.

May be willing to take the chance on Kitchens as interim for bowl game and see what happens. High profile guy who I doubt we brought in as a long-term analyst. Coached all over the offense in the NFL before becoming head coach. I don't think we'll lose any of the top candidates by then. Outside of the Auburn and maybe Stanford openings, who else is in the market?

Yep, read the links above regarding Ruggiero at Wake - he's proven he can produce!

Kittley from Texas Tech. He was at WKU before and the QB Zappe (now at New England) pretty much set every NCAA record. He is a Texas guy, so that might work against us, but Texas and Oklahoma are coming into the SEC, so competing against them may help.

Whoever it is I'm sure there are fans on here that will b!tch and moan about it.
disagree....somebody with a track record. It's not like we're hard to please as a fanbase....we just want competency and competitiveness within the conference. You have to hire a talent at OC - not a hope. We need to hit the mark with this, and I think our crowd, the game atmosphere and momentum could help big time in getting the right hire.

He’s a TX Tech grad. Would probably be hard to pry him away from his alma mater.

Whoever called the last two games would suit me silly.

If Woods is another “wants to be here” guy, I could get behind it

I was all for keeping Satterfield. However ,apparently he decided to leave on his own. If that is really what happened Shane should take advantage of the situation. I like the idea of making Kitchens the interim OC for the bowl game. It's pretty clear something changed after the Florida game. Some think Kitchens was calling the plays. Whomever we get the number one task is convincing Rattler to stay for one more season.
