Been waiting for this number. When I hear 35 I think:

I actually got stuck with it. I wanted 26, because of Dave Kingman, but John MacDonald already had it. I asked for 44 because of Willie McCovey, but for some reason Coach Polk was only allowing 1 thru 36. When I was asked, only 35 and 36 was left. Tom McCullough, who wore 35 before me, was in the room and campaigned for 35. So that's what I picked. I wore that same jersey top for 4 years.

A little before my time. I think of Wes Rea.

Awesome looking shadow box display!!! That is one iconic looking uniform. They need to go back to making identical copies of this uniform. What is the significance of the baseballs to the right of the bat?

Notable: No driver has won a NASCAR race while driving the #35.

Without going to look at the shadowbox. They are either Home Run balls from my Minor League career or the only 3 HR game I ever had. It was in a Little League tournament game when I was 12.

Bruce you could really club that ball, doesn’t matter what number you wore. Remember Polks joke about you racing a pregnant women to first and you came in 3rd?

Yeah. Told him I only needed to walk around the bases.
