He won his first round match over last years NCAA champion from Florida. Borges is better ranked than his oponent today but he is the betting underdog. Nuno is only the sixth Portuguese tennis player to win a main draw match in a major.

If he wins this afternoon he gets a matchup with #1 ranked Daniil Medvedev.

Evenly matched so far. Nuno won the 1st set 7-6, lost 2nd 6-7 and is up 4-3 in 3rd. A pro Wu crowd. No State gear evident in the stands.

With his 1st round win, this Chinese guy he's playing just became the 1st Chinese man to win a match in a Grand Slam in over 60 years.

That was the most Mississippi State thing ever. He breaks Serve to come back 4-4 in 5th set. Then gets blanked in his own serve to go down 5-4. He was so close - just couldn’t finish it off.
