Biggest positive tonight IMHO…..the receiving corps showed up and looked good, that seemed to be the biggest concern coming in tonight.
WRs looked like a strength. Separation. Yards after catch. 6 of them caught passes.
Allar was very good. Great 1st start. Arm is everything we've needed: strong, accurate, ball placement. His worst throw was the near pick in the end zone (I missed the other one, can't compare). 3 of his passes (minimum) were dropped that could have been 14 pts at best and incomplete at worst.
Singleton and Allen could have done more damage, but Yurcich wasn't intent on resting on his laurels per se. They both looked really good today.
OL did well. Got some good rotations in. WVU blitzed more than was expected, but that's good for film.
Defense turned in a decent performance. No turnovers hurts the overview. Not dominant, but they didn't give up a lot of yards nor points. WVUs strength was our expected weakness and we didn't break any tendencies to combat it. Also, a mobile QB who had a decent day throwing was good practice.
Jacobs and Kobe King had strong games. Secondary was tough, but WVU just didn't seem capable of really threatening them. DL was the weak point, but perhaps by design. Can we adjust later if we have to? That is the question.
Of course, you have to be able to score to win the big games. With 10% better efficiency, we score 50+ tonight.
