what is foreign to me is somebody who is unremittingly negative toward the coaches and players of the team that he supposedly roots for
Criticism comes from people who are not satisfied with mediocrity. Refusal to criticize comes from people who see mediocrity as a perfectly acceptable result.

You are an idiot.
Oh yeah? How so?

So, you think playing a mediocre 6th year QB is the better option to developing a guy that’s projected to be an elite talent?

One of us is an idiot, sir. Probably not the one who understands how “investment” works, though.

"Mediocrity"...we're 7-2 and likely to be ranked about 14th tomorrow (out of 124 teams), while having a great chance at being 10-2 and ranked in the top 10 heading into a marquee Bowl game...we're doing something pretty well if during a rebuilding year where we're playing loads of young guys, this is seen as "mediocrity".

Where do we matriculate in order to obtain our certification as an elite fanboy?

If they bring out Clifford again, they deserve to have both of them transfer. I’d be furious if I was either of those guys. Watching Clifford struggle all season, and then being in control like this and still not getting to play…?

It’s stupid and insulting.

I love that you got so mad about something and it didn’t even happen. You were so mad you came here to type how insulting it was and made up a scenario where our two freshman QB’s both transfer because Clifford played the next series only the next series hadn’t happened yet and Allar came in.

So many people complained throughout an entire game thread where we won 45-14 because they didn’t win the way they wanted.

Some of you need to have a reality check with yourselves. I can’t imagine you enjoy CFB. We are 7-2 and having a fantastic season, just beat the doors off Indiana and people are miserable over it.

Also Payday is the best candy bar. I don’t want to hear it!

Not really. Some take it too far, but mostly it comes from people that just call it as they see it.
whiny aholes- he was responding to disagree with something I said- which was:

"what is foreign to me is somebody who is unremittingly negative toward the coaches and players of the team that he supposedly roots for"

It was these types (and there are more than a few of them here) I referred to as whiny aholes, not anyone who may say anything critical

I've noticed that too. Thought it might be a balance problem after ankle tackles. Seems like Singleton still has a lot to learn about running between the tackles.
My theory is that his early season fumbles make him leery of fumbling when running in tight quarters. To minimize the risk, he runs inside with both arms wrapped tightly around the ball. That affects his balance, making it easier to trip him up.

Question for those who got to finish the game (I missed the second half).

TV ticker last night was showing our score and stats. It mentioned that Allar replaced Clifford with the notation "coaches decision".

Was this anymore than we had the game in hand and JF got Allar some reps? ESPinN had it reading like there was more to it. At least, I've never seen the backup getting garbage time snaps as ticker worthy.

Nothing more to it…game was in hand, so gave Clifford the rest of the day off. ESPN is just saying it wasn’t injury related.

I watched the game late last night too and saw the same ticker prior to seeing the 2nd half. The color commentator couldn’t have been more excited to see Allar. He was gushing over everything he did he did (lining the team up, pre-snap reads, etc)…a little over the top imo.

Had never seen that wording before. Allar came in midway through the third quarter so he got about 20 minutes of playing time.

Clifford was very attentive and very supportive of him on the sideline, it seemed pretty obvious (at least to me) that they are good friends.

You guys realize we have the exact same record as Alabama, right?

Edit-just noticed an entire thread with this same statement. If only there was a magical way of removing posts once posted. Hmmm…

PSU certainly has some exciting young talent. Allen, Singleton, Allar, Carter, Sutton, etc.

That said, PSU's success next year will depend largely on what key players return (Washington, Strange, Johnson, Jacobs, etc) and if we can fill holes (LB, WR) through the portal.

You need to learn what mediocrity means. And many people will not be “satisfied” with anything less than undefeated seasons every year, so I take “some people” with a grain of salt.

You could argue that MD, RUT, and MSU will be our 3rd, 4th, and 5th most difficult opponents.

He was very critical over the things SC did at times in the first half as well. "6th years shouldn't make that mistake/read/throw" type stuff.

The good news is we should start next year ranked very high. The hype train helps.

This is exactly why I asked. Caught me as strange and as if they are trying to create a story.

Next year could be special if we’re able to keep some guys and fill a few holes.

What did you think about the OL?

What I saw in the first half, Shelton and Nelson looked really good on the left side. Nelson missed a stunt early, but they began to work together really well.

In fact, left side was better than right side from what I saw.

It was an error. It was supposed to read, “McAndrew Board decision.”

We just need to get smaller and faster on the line of scrimmage.

I’ll take as much positive talk about Allar as anyone is wanting to do. For those who tuned into our game over Ga/UT and stayed through the whole thing, there was a lot to praise. Next year could be special if we’re able to keep some guys and fill a few holes.

And Allar - that boy has a hose.
Allar is going to need some WRs
