Every 5000 miles. And I always use full synthetic whenever I can (assuming the seals are good); if not, then I use a hi-mileage blend.

I used to do it myself. For decades. I have most every oil filter wrench available, for all the different cars I used to change oil on. Saved a lot of $$ in the days that $ was tight...but now its becoming a ******* PITA!!!. Today's engine compartment design layouts put the oil filter or the drain plug in the most ******* screwed up places...like my 2006 Honda Accord filter is behind the front passenger side wheel!!! and one has to remove the wheel to get to it, and its still in a very tight spot!! The drain plug on my 2020 F150 is right above the front axle (spills and splatter the oil all over the place šŸ¤¬; there are aftermarket drain attachments that fit around the axle). I just leave it to the service folks anymore.

Cha-ching and there's another one! Newsflash: Sorry, no is the response to your suggestion, I'm not changing how I do it. Why does that bother folks so much, please explain if you can. Another newsflash: You assume too much about me, I never dreamed of owning a Pontiac, it was the best deal at the time we were car shopping. Thanks for your comments though, they are appreciated.
I donā€™t give a flying hoot what you do with your piece of $h!t. I do care about this board being dragged down by @$$holes like you.

Resorting to an ad hominem attack means you've lost the argument. I merely posted my response to the OP's question and have been subjected to a hail of negativity to which I have defended myself and my position with thoughtful responses. Again, why does that bother you and others so much? Please explain and cease with the ad hominems and name calling. Thank you.

wokity Woke newsflash: suggest you check your PalmPilot about how much has changed with regard to engine & engine oil technology since the days you were dreaming of owning a Pontiac *
There is nothing ******* woke about oil changing preferences. Just stop with the ******* bull ****. The ******* "woke whining" has no ******* place w.r.t. to changing oil. Jeeper ******* Peltz...

And yes, while oil and engine technology has evolved, two things still ******* matter: a) proper viscosity; and b) getting the ******* dirt out of your engine and oil, whether its fully synthetic or not, based on how one drives with stops/starts/highway/city/off-road.

Not true...but you keep going there...
I could literally post well over 100K articles on this topic. This first one is to get you up to speed.

"How Oil-Change Intervals Stretched From 3,000 to 10,000 Miles"

"Unlike regular car oil, synthetic oil is more refined which can lower friction, reduce engine sludge, and increase engine performance. It's recommended that you change synthetic oil every 7,500 ā€“ 15,000 miles, depending on the vehicle and the brand of synthetic oil used."

"For the vehicles in Car and Driver's long-term test fleet, those intervals range from 6000 to 16,000 miles (and almost always include oil-filter changes)."

Whatever...I've had half a dozen vehicles last over 200K and/or 300K miles.

Decades ago my interval was 3000 miles. With synthetics I upped it to 5000 miles. Except for my current car and truck, I did all the changes myself.

You do what you do; I do what I do.

I harmlessly, and frankly being funny when I told him to keep it to himself, told a guy who stated he changes his 20K mile synthetic oil and 20K mile filter every 3,000 miles that he was being ridiculous. Never told him any more until he started calling me names. Now you tell me that you disagree with the four reasons I gave him that changing 20K synthetic oil and filter every 3K but I am somehow telling you "what to do"? Oh, and if you want to yell about woke go see the other poster.

What a colossal ******* someone must be to connect oil change interval preferences to political beliefs.

Back to topic, I'm currently at 4400 miles from my last oil change and my monitor shows 42% oil life remaining. I'm changing it tomorrow.

Jesus: thou shalt strictly follow published manufacturer-recommended service intervals ā€¦ deviation will cause needless waste or mechanical and spiritual doom*

Agree on the accord, had an 07, tough place to get the filter out from. just got rid of that car a year and a half ago. Good vehicle got me about 250,000 miles. No real issues until the AC went. Oil change on that was always in the 7 to 10,000 mile range.
