Any word on Tengwall and Fashanu? We need to get these guys on the field
also Wallace is one we have not heard status on. Wormley was playing but he did not look his normal self. The remainder of the season is pretty dependent on the OL at least being healthy. Vega may need to fill into one of these roles.

Now Franklin indicated Olu might not play. All hands on deck if Wallace and Tengwell are also still out this week. If those three are out. OL would probably be:
LT - Effner
LG - Nourzard
Center - Scruggs
RG - Wormley or Vega (Freshman)
RT - Shelton (Freshman)
Extra OL - JB Nelson (spells @ ??)

He said we will see. If Olu can not go they would keep the other 4 the same and Christ would play.

Maybe stick one of our TEs in there, at least they are more athletic…..?

That spells huge problems if 3 starters are out including both tackles. Not good. Upset alert if that’s the case. Hope the big Samoan gets a chance, though. Having Shelton, Christ, and Effner at T is crazy. Oh well here we go with a another November swoon if the OL is a scramble?

This is getting ridiculous. It happens year after year after year with our staff. We have 11 million OL guys on scholarship, and none are capable of actually playing proficiently when it’s game time. This has to be because of one or more of the following.
1. Terrible evaluation during recruiting.
2. Terrible player development.
3. Rather than work most of our OL recruits must have decided to retire from football, but have opted to remain on scholarship.

Actually Shelton playing would be best for this game and the future of the program

What exactly happened to Olu? I don't remember him getting injured.

Olu was on the field for the final drive, so it must have happened very late. I do not recall seeing the game stop for him being down on the field with injury.

The OL scramble makes the last 4 games a lot more of a risk than they should be. Matt McGloin said we need to make a statement v Indy = 21-24 pt beat down. That could be a challenge with an OL out of sorts. Also, Indy coming off bye week, and there are many changes we might see (per TFrank interview with sports writer for Indy). Any time Penn State has been beat up and after a big loss (i.e. tOSU), they have tended to play down. OL having some semblance is important. Also if a FR can make a difference you play him - red shirts are useless at this point.

It apparently happened late in the OSU game. No details given other than a CJF mention earlier this week. Said they weren't sure abut his availability for this Saturday.
Wormley is also apparently playing injured per BWI team. that makes 4 of 5 OL either out or not 100%

I don’t want to hear excuses.

If PSU’s OL is dinged you simply adopt a Beilema offense and involve 3 TE’s in a run-heavy offense….. with pass-options to the TE’s

The TEs are not proficient enough in the run game. Illinois threw OLs out there, not TEs.

Not to rub salt in the wound, but wasn't Dawkins not available last week nursing an undisclosed injury?
Obviously i have/had no clue....and if he was, then my question is how are our OL getting injured at practice? It was reported Tengwall was injured during PREGAME WARM-UPS....and i am not sure Dawkins has played at all....i will give one freak accident/injury, but multiple seems a bit troublesome. I believe CJF needs a better operations manager to handle daily agendas and set training schedules......when the HC says EVERYTHING is the problem, and questionable non-playing injuries occur...my first reaction is "Who is steering the ship"....possibly with the expansion of staff and non-football activities that need to be managed (NIL, PORTAL,FACILITIES, NUTRITION?TRAINING TABLE, HOUSING, ACADEMICS, etc...) i can see CJF is getting stretched in numerous directions...and even with his energy level i believe he could use an individual to assist...an operations manager to handle all non-football related activities.

I'd have to look @ the coaching/grad assistant/analysts roster to determine if there is already such a position.

He limped off on the final drive. Christ played RT and Effner LT on the final four plays of that TD drive.

There are probably five or six people already on staff responsible for those functions.. Leann Loudin is a nutritionist dedicated to football. Kevin Threkel is the COS and Ben Kerr is director of football administration. There are 2-3 others with job titles that don't directly relate to recruiting or on-field development/performance.

Getting staff doesn't appear to be a problem. The football program has almost three dozen beyond the eleven coaches and secretarial staff.

Obviously, we need more VP's of various things, maybe Sandy can come back as a consultant and make that happen

Yes....i am sure you own or operate a fortune 100 company.....so you should also be able to answer how can a micro manager like CJF after 8 years running HIS company, does he feel and state EVERYTHING is the problem? Somewhere the ball has been dropped.

OL is a weird, dangerous place for freak injuries, even in practice. Players get stepped on, step on others and twist ankles, knees, etc. Players get pushed and tripped into others' knees. There are a wide range of things that can happen. It wasn't that long ago that posters on this board complained that the team wasn't getting enough contact during practice.
