I hope your joking but I fear your not, getover it, State will never ever have a reputation as a party school. I could care less, I had a great time while there, but the morons that go home every weekend are what gives the school the bad rap.

Yeah I was looking at this list and others on the Princeton Review on msn.com, and I clicked the link for Mississippi State. For our enrollment it said we only have a little over 11,000 students. Last time I checked we had over 17,000, and with the incoming freshman class being our largest ever this fall, it will be over 18,000.

they call randomly i think and ask if you drink more than a certain amount of drinks..it isnt scientific by any means...

No difference in msu and um as far as those who party and "fun" go...difference is they dont have near as many that stay home and dont party. That is why their retention rate is so low...they have a lot of %++%#@! that go there simply for partying and not for an education because they are a "party" school...also has to do a lot with some strange nostalgia/reputation/elitist **** that somehow appeal to folks in texas, tn, bama and georgia. That is where a good deal of the aura of **** dont stinkness comes from, and it rubs off on the ms folk. Was always funny to watch some of my best friends come back to jones county in their pickup trucks, camo and skoal rings listening to john anderson, but they talked really funny and said some of the most pompus ****....took about 2 or 3 days for that wear off and constant raggin from us before they realized just how stupid they were acting...

Love those guys to death, but damn, what the +%!@ is in the water up there?....their parents are the worst (you know the ones that didnt go there but are reliving it through their kids and get involved in the tailgating and such) Sheesh, it really does kill me...That said, i usually just laugh it off or shake my head in disbelief and have a damn blast....except in 04 when they just beat the **** out of us in that lazy cold *** rain...worst *** whoopin id seen until we pounded them the next year...

But Ole Miss has what 22 something bars in walking distance downtown? All of which are filled with hot *** puss that would never talk to anybody that has less than a "G" in there pocket and a hundo to pay for their panty dropping Shirley Temples. So im out of luck......... but maybe JR could get one of them?. Starkville has: Mugshots,Whiskey Blues (is it still open?), some new gay *** bar in the old Abey, Does (old Bistro),Old Venice, and the joke of the group Big Daddies. Not exactly in the top ten or anything.

Back in the day, it seemed to me the parties in Starkville all took place at the apartments on/near campus. You guys have it great now. There was only Cheers or drive to Columbus. Anyway, had a buddy who lived at College Station, it was wild at time. If it wasn't happening there, then we would just make the rounds at the other campus apartments and find a party. Also, I experienced some pretty big parties at the frat houses (got thrown out once for saying I was a rushees when I really wasn't...funny as hell) but if OM has bigger.....then damn! I don't know how lively the Cotton District is now but Starkville had nothing like the Square in Oxford back in the early 90s.

I have a stepdad that teaches there and that always cracked me up.

ricks...that is all

seriously, all i need is one place to tie one on. There is plenty of poon at all the bars you mentioned. Not to mention the ratios are always good. I could give 2 *****...i have fun in both places, and it is much the same in both except for the way folks act and talk sometimes

before the Ole Miss posters start trying to rationalize, or even celebrate, this achievement. Can't believe it's taken them so long.
