What say your gut on Jevan Snead?

Hoping and praying he'll go to the draft. Accepting the grim reality he will probably be back.

You guys are idiots if you think you be better off next year without Snead. He had a bad year this year but he's still a good QB and he's lightyears ahead of anybody else you've got.

Stanley looked good in his limited playing time last year, Mackey is supposed to be a very good Wild Rebel prospect and I hear Raymond Cotton is making some great strides.

The deal with Snead is, he's got all the talent and tools that can be asked for from a quarterback, but his head is not there. 20 TDs and 17 interceptions speaks volumes, and considering most of his success came passing to Hodge on the sideline or McCluster out of the backfield, and both of them are gone now, I just don't know how much confidence he'll have in anyone.

The early part of the schedule next year (Jacksonville State, at Tulane, Vanderbilt, Fresno State and Kentucky in Oxford) sets up perfectly to break in a new QB and get him ready.

Truthfully, if he comes back, it won't be a bad thing. Sowell becoming a solid LT and a few receivers stepping up and not dropping balls would probably work wonders for Snead's confidence too.

But I would like to see an open and honest QB competition, and if that happens, my money is on Stanley.

try to blow that cheap cigar smoke up our asses either. With him, you got at good shot at a 7-5 season inspite of losing McCluster and Hodge. Without him you are going to lose a number of games you shouldnt.

He does choke for literally no reason at times. But he's better than the alternative of breaking someone in.

How can you get better starting a guy , who undoubtedly has talent but not SEC ready , for a Two year starter in the conference and has shown that he can get it done at this level.

Jevan was as uncomfortable this year as I have ever seen a college QB and how can you blame him ? He lost both of his security blankets to the draft. Turns out Oher and Wallace were pretty good players.

Jevan Snead didn't hold you back, coaching held you back. Nutt tried to win games with Snead instead of feeding Bolden/McCluster to open it up for Snead. Your line play wasn't great and you were missing 4.2 Wallace and Nutt tried to beat teams first and foremost by Snead. Moronic. Snead WAS your 2008 season and only a dumb rebel would think anything different.

and alot of posters on 6pack dogged him. But I think he made a big coaching blunder when he didn't feed McCluster from the start. I was wondering that against South Carolina and then on out. Disagree if you like, but it wasn't a dumb post. Snead is a good QB. Nutt is a good coach, but he does make questionable calls. Most work out for him, this one didn't.

I feel the same way, in hindsight, about Mullen not playing Relf more. Of course McCluster was a proven superstar, so it's even more mindboggling to me.

he'll be more cautious. Hodge was a SERIOUS safety net for him as he could make the difficult catch. Now JS knows he's gone, there will be a bit more hesitation especially with the NFL draft looming after the end of next season. Snead could reverse the reputation by just being a bit more willing to throw it away or eat it.

Problem with that is, McCluster Spread the field wide for the opposing defense and Hodge spread it deep. WIth both gone and assuming their replacements dont equate their threat, the defenses are going to come after Snead like he was a freshman.

Bottom line, Snead works on his maturity and discipline on how to get rid of the ball better he'll have a good year.

He doesnt, and he is going to get crippled. But either way, I dont think he throws that many INT's next year.

As for McCluster, yeah he should have had a lot more touches. That's easy to say now.

He has history of injuries, hell some thought might never play again. After the hit he took
as a freshman against Vandy.

As for Mullen, he obviously knows what he is doing. Maybe your post wasn't dumb, it sure wasn't very informative.
