I presently park in lot number 12. After the game I always head towards Altoona.

I would like to exit the lot faster and get to route 322 faster.

So I'm considering a change of parking lots. Would Lot 22 or Lot 23 give me a faster exit to get to 322?

If not lot 22 or Lot 23, what lots would you suggest for a faster exit to get to 322 and eventually to Altoona?

thank you.

Park Ave is really a fluster cluck after the games, for a few yrs I had HC parking by the softball field and had to exit on Park Ave. Went back to lots along Porter Rd since I’m heading east.

I believe several siblings here like the Fox Hollow Rd for ingress /egress, I would think lots 22 or 23 would be your ticket for better exit.

place in your thread title something like anyone use Fox Hollow for games, might get more responses

I've parked in lot 38 several times and get from there to my condo 12 miles away in 20 minutes.

I am in lot 22, enter the stadium from the airport, then Toftrees, come up to the stadium from behind the N endzone. I am assuming that is the Fox Hollow direction. Great parking spot...we can wait till the end of the game and have no problem getting out.

When i was going to games, that's the lot i parked in. I think it was 19 then. Usually drove right in and back out mostly non stop. However, i never gave away secrets.

Thank you. So which lot is better - 22 or 23?
23 is very small and they don't usually open that up until 22 gets filled up(but it has been a few season since I parked back there). If you can get into 23 do that because it is closer to the exit onto Fox Hollow. 22 is not as bad as 12 after games and head out fox hollow you can be on 322 in no time(only a few lights thru Toftrees to get to 322). If you are heading to Altoona, you have alternates by going out to 550 and taking that down and getting on 322 in Bald Eagle or Tyrone as an option. I made it a personal law to never ever ever park in lot 12 or in a lot that empties onto Park Ave ever a gain. Every time I park in those god forsaken lots off Park Ave, it takes 2-3-4 hours to get out of the lot. Those lots on Park Ave are a nightmare to get out of.

Best access in/out is via Porter Road. I’ve parked in Lot 42 for the last 15 years or so, and rarely have any significant delays getting in and out. Timed my travel time getting out after White Out game this past year…13 minutes to get to my house 3.5 miles from Beaver Stadium.

Wow, I have rarely heard positive stories about getting out. I park in lot 44 and usually only go to two games per year. One is always the White Out. I usually am staying in an airbnb within 5 miles of the stadium and it takes me about 1.5 hours to exit and get back. Ironically, I moved to lot 44 from what I saw as a better lot (was Brown), but I just could not deal with Park Road in or out of the area. I do think Porter Road is better than Park Road, but not much. I did park in lot 22 a few years ago and I got out much easier despite getting stuck in the mud and getting towed out of the lot.

Parking and entrance to the stadium are by far my biggest issues with the gameday experience (that and the losses to OSU, Michigan, etc).

At the risk of letting others in on the secret, I've parked in 22 for almost every game since the parking change a few years ago and I'm amazed at how quickly I get in and out. Others often don't believe me when I tell them I had less than a 5 minute wait getting out. If they don't manage it well, there are a lot of potential choke points that could cause trouble, though. I noticed it did take a little longer in and out last season than '19. I think the parking czars figured that out and they are routing more people through Toftrees and Fox Hollow now than originally planned. I often think about how nice it would be to have a temporary on/off ramp just for game days to/from 99 and Fox Hollow, right by the electrical substation.

The thing I don't like about 22 is that most parking is on a rather difficult slope if you want to set up tables and grills to tailgate. I have to pack 2x4's to level up my gear.

Something else about the West parking lots (I come from the East) is that there are a lot of places to meet somebody before and after the game to drop one car off. Also, if you don't tailgate after the game and you hustle to get out, there are several chain restaurants in close proximity to the 99 exit and S Atherton where you can get a table quickly after the game.

BigUglies, I think that is an assigned lot and opens the same time as others. They do use the grass area around the administration buildings next to 23 when 22 fills up. Another big secret, I've parked in the overflow area for two whiteouts and had literally no wait after the game. I got in my car and drove right out without stopping until I got to the red light at the 99 exit. I couldn't believe it. The challenge there is that you need to time it and arrive late. If you're lucky, you might even get a paved lot there.

Thanks. Do you have any other tips on REGULAR SEASON FB parking lots. Thanks.
We are in 34. Most folks go back down the way they came up via Orchard, but for big games, as long as the gates are open, it is best to head back towards Beaver Stadium and make the first left past the fence and then the first right to go by Medlar field and then onto Porter. Get out way easier vs waiting in the bottleneck going down the hill to Orchard. Too many lines of cars trying to enter one road out.
