When I arrived at my current school, they still had the benches on the endline. Tradition. Other schools hated it, so I naturally thought I'd love it. But I thought it would be hard to get used to though after coaching from the sidelines for 7 years. But it really wasn't THAT big a difference. On 30 second timeouts, if my team was on the other end, I'd meet them at halfcourt instead of making them come all the way down to me and then back. Other than that, I didn't really detect a noticeable "home court advantage" from it. It was more psychological than anything.
THE ONLY thing that I didn't like was .....I use alot of off/def substitutions late in close games. Esp. if we're down and i need to send someone in to foul to put a team on the line or get to the bonus. THAT is harder because you have to get the sub all the way down the line before the ball is put in play. Makes it more difficult.
