Thursday (1/16) was the birthday of the late, great, Katherine Anderson. She was a founding member of the Marvelettes. (They were originally the Casinyets, but Berry Gordy changed their name to the Marvelettes.) To celebrate, their 1st hit, which was also became Motown's first #1 Pop single in 1961:

Friday (1/17) is the birthday of Susanna Hoffs. She was a founding member, the rhythm guitarist, and shared the lead vocalist role, of the Bangles. (The band was originally the Colours, then the Supersonic Bangs, then the Bangs, before becoming the Bangles.) To celebrate:

Love the way Sweet used to mock having to mime/lip sync.

Underrated song - maybe my fav from them b/c it's about a stray cat that would come round to watch the song writer's band (not Sweet) practice.

Saturday (1/18) is the birthday of the late, great, Davis Eli Ruffin. He's more commonly known by his stage name, David Ruffin. He joined the Temptations when founding member Elbridge "Al" Bryant was fired from the group. Ruffin originally sang backgrounds for the Temptations, with the lead being handled by either Eddie Kendricks or Paul Williams. However, Smokey Robinson wrote "My Girl" with the idea of Ruffin singing the lead, and after that song Ruffin was the lead singer of the Temptations. Alas, he became addicted to cocaine, and was fired from the group in 1968. To celebrate:
