I’ll “fifth” Echo in the Canyon. While I know it was about a brief time in the mid-60s, I felt like they really didn’t include enough about Frank Zappa.

Dylan must not have been a fan, but Zappa was very much central to The Canyon scene during that time.

I’ve read that The Doors we’re also likely the biggest Canyon band in that era and nary a peep in the movie.

It’s editorial license, I suppose.

There have been two recent documentaries about Oasis; I've only seen 'Supersonic', which is sort of a 'rise and fall' of Oasis; 'Definitely Maybe' is about the making of their first album, 'Definitely Maybe'.

This is AWESOME watched it at 1am with son 1 with beers
this song blew me away they are border punk rock which surprised me

I think thats a legit criticism of that particular Documentary. (IIRC there are a couple on Laurel Canyon), I also really didn't need to hear Jakob Dylan "re-doing" the songs. Just play the originals.
Here is another one thats on epix that was good. The talent in that area was off the charts. The demise of that after the Manson Murders is pretty interesting as well.

That last piece is a documentary in itself. I’d watch that topic.

Watched Supersonic last night. It was excellent. I do like Oasis so that's a good start.

One of the best live shows I've seen. They played at Duquesne University sometime in the 90's - just as they were getting big. Went with my younger sister and her friend (they went to see pretty much anyone who played in Pittsburgh) and they met and got a picture with Liam Gallagher. Nice lad. That said, the highlight of the show for me was Noel Gallagher's solo acoustic performance of The Jam's 'To Be Someone'....amazing. I'd never heard that song before and his arrangement and performance is so much sadder than the original.

I saw them in the 90's at Jiffy Lube arena in Manassas, VA. Liam just stood up there, arms behind his back wailing with that big voice. The melodies were a heavy wall of sound. So good. Watching that documentary you realize that he's really an immature dumb@ss prima donna awesome front man. Typical characteristics of a youngest child in a toxic household. Those brothers were damaged by their dad.

Been watching quite a few of these lately. Give me some recommendations. So far, hard to imagine beating the Woodstock doc from the 70s, but obviously it's very different from modern docs.

Others I've recently enjoyed:

Eagles doc
Montage of Heck
Amy
The HBO Music Box doc on Alanis Morisette
Gimme Shelter
I just saw where the entire roof top concert from get back will drop on the 28th.
