Being floated as something that makes a lot of sense for all parties involved. He won a title with Saban at LSU. He has no offset in his buyout, so he gets all that money, no matter what. The hiring would fit Saban's pattern of previous successful OC hires. And it likely vaults Bama back to the top. Maybe, just maybe, if he goes to Bama and they go on a little mini-run to end Saban's career, Jimbo slides into the HC gig there.

Is the current Bama OC leaving to make room ?

If Saban sees an opportunity upgrade his staff and get back to the top, Rees would be gone.

It has been a long time since Jimbo was an OC, so you have to wonder if he's still got it from that aspect.

This year Rees has arguably done the best job of any OC Saban has had.I don't think any chance this happens. Now Jimbo as offensive analyst might happen.I think Jimbo will sit out a year, maybe do some TV work, especially if Mullen heads to Miss St.

Because of the job Rees has done, it's rumored he may come up in head coach searches. Hence the opening for Fisher.
