I think you got your answer, very few on this board care!
I generally don't care about the NBA either, but it's hilarious when wokeness makes a fool out of itself.
What makes it so funny is that they genuinely think they've come up with a way to avoid someone being picked last.
Hold on there! A 6’2” inch part time NBA player, and a Caucasian, won the slam dunk competition during NBA All Star weekend. He was a jumping MoFo fo sho. The NBA is officially full blown WOKE, inclusive, and diverse. Praise Allah…and Chairman Mao. Lol
They are trying way too hard to win me back. Saw the dunk on ESPN while forced to watch it. Not much to write home about. Call me when Betty white comes back from the dead and throws the ball through the hoop from above the rim.
For real. If you're picked last, you're still being acknowledged as one of the top .000001% of basketball players on the entire planet.
At the least some in the national media realized the obvious silliness of the whole thing and are not hailing as an achievement for equity:

Back in the day, if I did everything just right, I could touch the bottom of the rim every now and again.
I was (and still am) happy to get the bottom loop of the net!
It's been eons since I even tried, but it might be more about like that now. Sad thing is, standing flat footed, my reach is 7 ft 9.5 in. So I'm almost 80% of the way to the rim and I can't come close to making that up with jumping.I was (and still am) happy to get the bottom loop of the net!

In my late teens I could dunk, but had to let a little air out of the ball so I could ‘palm it’. At 6’0” and 160 lbs. I had some ups’, but nothing extraordinary. At 65 years old I can barely run, much less jump…thank gawd for my elliptical!!!
Next year the NBA will solve the problem they created this year and will announce that no one will be selected to the AS Team.
If they really want to be woke, why not go the equality route and all NBA players get paid the same - a measly $1M a year
