Personally I'd rather see us scrimmage local travel teams and build some relationships with in-state coaches and players than put on an off the wall spectacle for the fans.

Yep. It's not another typical baseball team in an area that the MLB apparently doesn't want. So they've created a different type of entertainment that, as you said, is a show, a production, a huge success. Sorry if you don't like it but they're a hell of a lot of fun. Some people don't want to just sit around watching the same baseball every day. Some of us prefer to branch out and live our own lives. It's nice to have that choice. Maybe it's time for some people to move into the 21st century.

Or were the Harlem Globetrotters "crap" too?

It is sad that Savannah didn't want to support a true baseball team, but will support this. Oh well. Their loss is Columbia's gain.
