OT: MSU Riley Center in Meridian......

I went to the State branch in Meridian. I graduated from there. It is a beautiful building. But, sorry, no tickets.
There's really not a bad seat in the house. It's a great facility - acoustics are amazing and you'll see just fine from any seat. You'll also get the chance to see the two buildings adjacent to the Riley Center recently purchased by MSU - they'll house the college of business (moving from Hwy 19 campus) and book store / coffee shop. Believe it or not, Meridian's downtown is shaping up to be a happenin' place. Check out the concert - don't worry about seats.
Really a nice facility. The business school moving downtown is a plus for the area. There was a segment on the news the other night about it and how it will create more of a demand for housing in the area. I never thought downtown housing would go over in Meridian, but a couple of old buildings have already been renovated for apartments/condos and looks like there could be more. Good to see life coming back into the city.
a few years ago. I was totally blown away by the facility. My class toured the building when I was in Jr high ('90 or '91) and it was a run down dump. It is amazing what they have done with the place. As far as the show I went to, the wife and I were on the second level to the left of the stage. They have some big chairs to sit in up there. I was very comfortable and felt like I was feet from the stage looking down.

I checked into one of those downtown condos in 02ish. It was 120k then. When the wife and I were looking for a place to buy a few years ago I called again and they were well into the 200k range. I was blown away.
It's a beautiful facility and a huge asset to MSU. We did the work under with Evergreene under White Construction and Pryor Morrow.
My boss scored a ton of old heartpine beams and old stage flooring that were demoed from the buildings. A year later he utilized it during a pretty magnificent renovation of his house. He used the heartpine to have a custom built bar in his pool room. He also used the heartpine for beams at the ceiling. He also used the original judge's chamber paneling from the Oxford Courthouse renovation for wall paneling in the pool room. It's a pretty nifty place to kick back with the guys.

We decided to buy a 1 year old 2000sqft house in a great neighbourhood and school districtfor 155k. Meridian is no Nashville.
