OT: Nathan's Hot Dog Contest In Hot Water Amid Cheating Allegations

Two insiders claimed one of the contestants used sneaky slight of hand tricks to boost his hot dog count and sneak into the ranks of the sports top contenders. The accused cheater ate 46.75 hotdogs to finish 4th. That 46.75 figure was later jumped to 51.75 on the official Major League Eating results web site, giving the contestant, Nick Wehry credit for eating 5 more hot dogs than he allegedly was never served. Sources say Wehry stole plates from a competitor's stack and added them to his own place setting, which allegedly inflated his score to over 50 hot dogs. Each plate holds 5 hot dogs. Wehry had demanded a recount. The theory is that he demanded the recount after stealing the plate.

His girl friend set the women's record by eating 51 hot dogs.

They should have video. If they don't, I bet they will next year.

Is there nothing untouchable for scandal? LOL

In NYC, anything goes.
Murderers go free, so I doubt contest cheaters have anything to worry about.
Nathan's may try to salvage their name though.

I'm still devastated Joey Chestnut went vegan. I boycotted all eating events this year and went to lunch.

Why was he not in this year's contest.

Also, don't know if I'm proud or disappointed that we've gone this far past the girl eating hotdogs without any perverted jokes.

Chestnut was disqualified by Nathans from the annual July 4th event last month because he signed a deal with one of Nathan's biggest competitors, vegan brand Impossible Foods.
