My t-shirt drawer was getting difficult to shut, so I went in this weekend to cull some of the "holy" ones and the ones I don't wear any more for one reason or another. I was struck by the age of some of these shirts. The oldest was a Student Eagle Club t-shirt from my Southern Miss days from the 92-93 school year. I haven't worn it in years, but I keep it around anyway. But I wore the crap out of that thing back in the day, playing pick-up football and basketball games, jogging, summer jobs cutting grass, stretching barbed wire fencing, and working with cows, and continued to wear it later for yard work and everything else. The quality compared to modern t-shirts is astounding. After all these years, it looks better than many of my T-shirts that are just 5 or 6 years old.

What is your oldest T-shirt?

Starter Don Mattingly jersey # t-shirt. Don't recall exact age but early 90s. Craziest thing is that is still fits. I've outgrown hundreds of shirts since then, but somehow it still fits. That said, I can't really wear it any longer due to wear. I used to wear it when I would make my way to a Yankees game or two every year, but I don't think it could even stand that any longer.

I've still got a few T-shirts from back in high school that I'll wear for yard work. These would date from 2008-2012, so nothing to the age of OP's shirt!

I still have a few athletic trainer shirts from my days at Carolina (1975-1978). The closet caused them to shrink.

Mid 70’s. Joyful alternative when it was located on Greene st. Inscribed “Grow your Own”

Now the oldest one I ever recall was from Rat Fink Comics.
Circa ‘66.
It was inscribed, “Participant 1965 Watts Riots, Los Angeles, California “
My mother sez to a young CockofEarle, “Where did you get that?….you can’t wear that outside”
Earle did in fact wear it outside…….& in a short time it mysteriously disappeared 🤔
