CR made some good music, in the classic Texas country tradition and seemed like a cool guy. I saw him do a show about 20 years ago when it seemed like he may be on the verge of bigger things. Sounds like he’d had some bad health issues, forcing him to retire. Hate to hear this. RIP…

This sucks.

I seriously considered going to a festival in Tyler earlier this year to see him perform but I decided to support local and go to the Jimmie Rodgers Music Festival (which was also very good).

RIP, Charlie.

It does suck. I saw Charlie doing an in-store performance at Waterloo Records in Austin about 20 years ago. It was one of those where you are standing 10 feet away from the band. It was a fun performance. I can't even remember what album he was promoting.

In addition to My Hometown, my favorites are Loving County, Desperate Times, and New Year's Day.

RIP Charlie.
