It all started about 4 am... I was stranded at home on a Saturday. What I remember most is looking out the kitchen window and seeing ZERO visibility! Never seen anything like that blizzard before or since. I recall hearing the wind making a noise that just sounded wicked. Then, around 6 pm when it was just about all done we started the cleanup in the driveway. We live on a main drag and with the exception of the borough plow there were NO drivers for about two days!! Thank goodness we did not lose our power!

Stuck at my parents’ house. Only thing there was a small gas powered snow thrower. Plow had blocked bottom of the driveway with a wall of snow. Had to use the snow thrower to take off layers of snow until I got to the pavement. What a b****h that was to clean up.

Living in Downingtown in '93. But have lived in the south since '98 and have blocked out all those snow memories.

If I recall, that was right before spring break started at PSU. Cars were stranded in the middle of College and Beaver Ave. Parking lots just looked like mounds of snow piled up everywhere as you couldn’t see a bit of paint on any car parked.

This is a sign of old age, but I don't recall the Blizzard of 93, although I do recall the Blizzard of 78. And the Blizzrd of Ozz, which was in 1980.

was going to stay in Boston but my bothers ex wife then wife from hell wouldn’t let me stay another night after working in Boston for 2 months training. Brother was out of town.

Was supposed to drive to Lancaster to work with my brother for the week. I got up at 4:00 (after a late night) trying to beat the storm. Got out on 322 a mile or so from town and realized that I wasn't going to make it so I turned around. Was stuck in my apartment for the week playing Techno Bowl. I would play a season or two in one sitting.

Tried to walk to the store the next day to get some food but even that was difficult and almost everything was closed for a few days. It was a long week.

Had just bought my first house and preparing to propose to my wife. I had to shovel my house, my parents house, wife's apartment and her grandparents house. No snowblower. Ugh! Summer of 94 I went to Sam's club and saw snowblowers for sale. Borrowed a truck and went back to buy one. I still have it and it starts on the first pull.

I was on a bus trip from Scranton to Philly (Spectrum days) to see the Flyers and the LA Kings (Lindros Gretzky)
Saw one period of hockey. A window blew out of the spectrum and they cancelled the rest of the game.

By the time we made it up out of south philly the NE Ext of the turnpike was closed from K of P north.

Luckily the George Washington motor lodge (which was closed at the time) opened to allow us to stay the night. Some really nice restaurant owner from Norristown came over and took food and beer orders!
Quite a weekend!

Lived in a townhouse(rowhouse) in Ambler. Was recently unemployed. Shoveled our driveway and sidewalks as well as my neighbors. He worked for the township and hadn't been home for about 4 days. He was thrilled he didn't have to shovel his place out when he got home at 3:00 AM when it was over. He gave me $100 which came in handy but I didn't do it for the money. I tried to give it back to him but he wouldn't take it back. Also, had to shovel off our flat roof because it started leaking once the ice damn formed in the gutter.

I was living in Cedarbrook and had stayed in State College through Spring break to work. I buddy of mine came back to school early to beat the storm and crashed in my apartment. After playing about 20 straight hours of NHL Slapshot, we braved the snow drifts, hiking down to Zeno's - we figured they'd be open. The snow was so deep at the bottom of the stairwell that we could barely open the door. But when we did, the 30 or so people inside let a welcoming roar and bought our first round! I have no recollection of ever leaving.

This makes today my niece's 30th birthday. She was born in Hartford CT and her mother and my brother had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance due to the superstorm of 1993.

Ah, what memories. Was in Hilton Head on spring break (which was fantastic!). Left a day early to try and beat it. Did not beat it. Stranded in DC. Bunkered down with an alumnus for a 2-3 days, then headed back, which was a fun drive in and of itself in a crappy Ford Tempo (loved that car!). I believe I was the first to get back to State College, with most of my friends arriving back a couple days after me.

I was working in Inwood on Long Island which is between JFK airport and the ocean managing a Rent-A-Center. It was a heavy blowing sleet storm for us.

I don't remember the blizzard itself, but I do remember being in an off-campus apartment, and having a picture taken of me, wearing a T-shirt and sweatpants, jumping face first into a 7 foot high snowdrift with a bottle of Bacardi in one hand and a cigarette in my mouth. Assuming that took place during said blizzard, I obviously made good use of that time.

I was stranded at my parents’ house in York Co, and recall watching coverage from CNN in DC, which is 3 blocks from where I lived.

Yeah we dug it. GREAT driving roads and up the road from Havanas, our fav bar ever
Yep, New Hope has a lot of great bars. There used to be a dive bar on the river side of the canal in Upper Black Eddy that I started going to when I was a 14 year old. If you had money to spend they would serve you. I just checked and it appears to be gone.

Skiing in Colorado. Ours was the first plane to land in Pittsburgh after the blizzard. Dug our car out of a snow drift and foolishly drove home - most roads were closed, but we made it! Oh, to be young and stupid again😁.

On our way back to the Poconos from Killington VT. Made it as far as Middletown NY. We got the last room in the hotel. But we had a cooler full of food, beer, and wine and a big window to watch all the commotion outside.

Trenton for me.
Yea, I spent a lot of time in trenton. The bar in Upper Black Eddy was for after fishing and hunting primarily. I don't remember all the bar names but Alex's on Market St was one of the popular stops.

BTW, the blizzard in 93 kept me from going to GYM night at Neshaminy.

Smokey Mountains. Actually, we had just finished a 3 day back country hike and were on our way back. We stopped at a convenience store and the guy at the counter said something about the blizzard coming. It formed fast that we had no idea it was coming when we started the hike. Just got home in time.

The same can't be said for a large group from Michigan, who were stranded in deep snow days. https://www.nytimes.com/1993/03/17/us/last-michigan-campers-are-lifted-from-snowy-forest.html

Living in Bmore and watched a lot of bball.
It was nasty but I thought the storm of '96 was a lot worse, at least for MD.

I was just a young kid at the time, but I do remember how in the evening the heavy snowfall changed over to freezing rain for a while. So, by the morning we had a foot of snow encrusted by an impenetrable layer of ice on top, and it remained that way for days. It made for the fastest and most exciting sledding I ever experienced. The plastic sleds were useless, but old-school wooden sleds with the metal runners allowed you to steer your run over the ice to avoid, you know, hitting things as you descended farther than ever. It was amazing.

I was in University of Pennsylvania hospital for major surgery. They sent me home two days early because of the approaching storm. I can remember watching my wife and son digging out our house and car.

Lived in Wilmington, DE at the time. We got about a foot of snow in the '93 storm. Got about 30" in the '96 storm.
