Okay, so the last bike I had that I rode consistently was a Honda fury. I can feel the urge to get another bike since the weather is already getting warmer.

I have always been a metric guy (grew up riding them since my mom was the sales manager at the local Honda dealership for a long time) but I found a 2002 vrod with around 13k miles on it. Always loved the styling of those bikes, but never pulled the trigger on getting one.

First, what, if any, insight can you guys give me on the bike? I know it's completely different than other Harleys. Second, would it be a decent purchase? Again, my lack of experience with Harleys makes me unsure what I should or shouldn't consider.

Thanks in advance.

Not a V, but I'm partial to a Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster. Been thinking about it for a few years now.

I've bought and sold a lot of used motorcycles over the years. There are often lots of nice used Harleys with very low mileage for sale, often with some nice aftermarket accessories. If the seller is asking a less-than-expected price and the bike is in better-than-expected condition for the age, you can't go wrong. I know that sounds obvious, but I like to buy at a price that if I ride it for a while and decide I don't love it, I can get my money back or better when I sell it. I don't have any experience with V-rods personally, but one of my buddies had one and complained that it wasn't comfortable to ride for more than an hour or so and his got very poor gas mileage. However, his other bike was a Goldwing, so I doubt there would be any cruiser out there that felt comfortable compared to his primary ride.

Great bike. Bought a 07 used years ago rode for a year for free after selling. Can’t go wrong. Fast bike and handled like no other
