Anyone watching classic TV? I’m watching Peter Gunn, Wanted Dead or Alive, The Fugitive, Wyatt Earp, and Perry Mason. In the last Mason I watched Gavin MacLoed was the murderer😄

im not opposed to the premise but not sure my wine knowledge would be up to the task…

Finally got around to watching this over a year after I posted the trailer - and I like it a lot. If you're into travel or wine porn, this has you covered; plenty of gorgeous locations to gawk at (Chateauneuf-du-Pape & Paris, France; Tokyo, Japan; Trento, Italy) and some really in the weeds oenological geekyness (wine regions, grape varietals, tasting notes, etc.). The trailer is sneaky in that it really only tells half the story of what's going on here, and it did itself a disservice by not explaining more about the 'test' - which is really a series of tests, which range from the very obvious (such as identifying a very specific wine during a tasting), to the more abstract (find the wine - which could be anywhere in the world - associated with a seemingly innocuous old painting of fruit). There is a lot more too about the main characters vying for the 'inheritance' but it's worth finding out what that is by watching it. Check it out if looking for something different .

Speaking of wine regions, did you see the 60 minutes segment on the special wine making region in the country of Georgia? They include stems in the wine and it gives it an orange hue in addition to distinctive flavor.

Interestingly enough - the 'orange' wine from Georgia (which, and I didn't know this until watching the show, is considered the 'birthplace of wine' and has been making it for 8,000 years!) is actually mentioned during a key part of one of the tests. What a coincidence! ;)

Slow Horses S4 today on Apple TV. I’m
also enjoying Bad Monkey with Vince Vaughan also on Apple TV

I just went to watch it...and realized I never knew Season 3 came out. So I've got that going for me.

Honestly though, why is Apple so bad at marketing/promoting its shows?!?

Good question. They can’t get people to watch shows with Oscar winners meanwhile Netflix’s most watched shows are trashy true life murder docs.

It seems to me like Apple is aimed at a more intelligent audience while Netflix is just aimed at the masses.

Problem is Apple is spending a sh*t ton on these things and no one is watching. Even Slow Horses is a co-effort with BBC. One recent release the wife and I enjoyed was the Kristin Wiig project 'Palm Royale'; I know Maya Rudolph has a show there too (haven't seen it yet). Another I loved was 'Drops of God' - just don't see a lot of advertisement for these things. Lots of eyes on Apple with Ted Lasso but not many since.

Started watching this and not the typical camp of American Horror Story. Has good potential

Might give this a chance. My problem with Murphy and American Horror Story is that the first couple episodes are really good and the rest fall off the cliff.

Thoughts on The Penguin? I watched the first two episodes, but I can’t really get into it.

Watched this last night, God awful would have been an improvement.
Just watch the Original it's 100x better. I have no idea what they were doing. You have a great book, just follow it.
Yeah I can see why it took so long to release. The one kid is the same kid as Homelander’s son in The Boys except he ie about 15 now so that is how long ago Salem’s Lot was filmed!

I’ve got a bad cold and am basically useless today. Watched “Winter’s Bone” on Prime for like the 10th time, just now. A perfect film.

Its an excellent book. This is a horrible version of it. Re-watch the 1979 David Soul version. Its much, much better.
I rewatched that and it is so dated. I’ll wait until I see Nosferatu in theaters during Christmas.

It’s very dated and I still had issues with it not following the book, why they made Barlow look like Nosferatu was a choice but not how Barlow is portrayed in the book. And the music was way over the top but remeber it was a 1979 made for TV 2 parter.
but it was still much, much better than this newer version.

Have you ever watched The Strain on FX? Guillermo Del Toro. An imported gigantic vampire from the Balkans that is aided and abetted by a rich industrialist to take over the world. Pretty creepy take on vampires.
