Ha! Where is V Corps HQ now? I know they moved out of H’Berg - are they in Graf?
Sounds like they will be in Poland, near where they currently have a field HQ in advance. They were reactivated at Ft. Bliss in 2020 as what sounds like a contingency planning element (i.e., no assigned combat units). Read an interesting story about Graf earlier today; will link below.

Is Meade In charge?
Lol - I learned something new as I had no idea that Meade commanded a V Corps (not a direct lineage with the contemporary V Corps). Also forgot that Meade was a civil engineer. All this having been stationed at Meade and having a BSCE from PSU lol. 😆

Monty Miegs and William Wallace were USAREUR and V Corps commanders when I was there. Generals have the best names.

Planned or a response to events in Europe?
Unclear, but sounds like it may be at least indirectly as a result of the buildup of US armed forces in the region. And, rereading the press release, it sounds like at least part may be in its old home of Germany.

They do, don't they? Two funny rank/ name combinations that I recall: 1) had a battalion commander in Germany with last name Oberst (so, if you translated his last name in German, he was Lt. Colonel Colonel) and 2) knew a Captain Payne that got promoted... to Major Payne. 😆
