OT: What’s your hotel booking strategy?

Learned this lesson the hard way many years ago. Never ever ever book on Expedia etc. book directly.

for hotels, find a chain that is consistently good & convenient for you & stay with it as often as you can for the points. Choose convenience & quality over price.

That's what I did. After finally having the last straw with trying to go cheap, I picket Mariott and never looked back.

I travel frequently and use the programs to al the majors: Hyatt, Bonvoy, Hilton, & IHG.

I canned Hotels and Expedia a long time ago.

IHG, Marriott or Hilton and I always stay for free on points. I churn the credit card offers regularly so I always have the points available. I do look at the hotel reviews on TripAdvisor to make sure there are no huge red flags but then usually look for the best points option.
